Former The SeeYa and Five Dolls singer Han Seoin talked about her happy married life.
On the 28th, Han Seoin released her first solo single 'Passing Time' along with its music video through various online music sites.
After debuting with the digital single 'Good to Seeya' from The SeeYa in 2012 and also being active as Five Dolls, Han Seoin has garnered attention for her powerful vocals. After both groups disbanded, she appeared on KBS2 'Idol Rebooting Project - The Unit,' later expanding her activities as an actress through the MBN drama 'It's Okay Because I'm Dad,' and gained attention for showcasing her cooking skills in the SBS FiL and MBN entertainment program 'Korea Chicken Battle.'
Han Seoin personally appeared in the music video. To show her past self, it includes her childhood, adding authenticity. The stylish direction, visual beauty, and Han Seoin's simplicity combine to provide comfort and encouragement.
The music video was even more special because it captured her childhood. During an interview with OSEN following the new song release, Han Seoin reflected on her childhood dreams, saying, "When I was young in the video, I had no dreams at that time, but I was quite lively. I think I had talent, and I began to dream of becoming a singer in elementary school. I tried various instruments, but the one I did best was choir, and after winning prizes in song contests, I felt I could sing well, which made me dream of becoming a singer. I also realized early that studying didn't match me, so I firmly thought I should pursue being a singer."
However, Han Seoin's journey as a singer was not smooth. Although she was active in The SeeYa and Five Dolls, both groups did not last long. Han Seoin said, "I never once wanted to give up on my dream. After the group disbanded, I pondered how I could continue on this path and thought it was important to try to keep doing the music I wanted to do."
As part of her thoughts, Han Seoin also appeared on 'Idol Rebooting Project - The Unit.' Although she wanted to focus on music while participating in both acting and entertainment, she faced a major turning point in her life by marrying a non-celebrity who is a year older in 2022. She commented on marriage, saying, "At that time, I was 29, and my parents wanted me to become independent (get married) quickly, and since I had been dating my boyfriend for a long time, there were no major disagreements about getting married."
Han Seoin said, "Since I was an idol, I worried that marriage might affect my future activities, and I didn’t want it to. I felt that 29 wasn't that old, and I thought I could still expand my ambitions. But when I actually got married, I found that I had someone who supports me so much, and I gained a sense of leisure and stability. I felt many advantages of marriage, and I recommend that if you’re considering it, you should at least date for three years before getting married."
Additionally, regarding plans for children, Han Seoin shared, "In fact, there were talks about it right after we got married, and I was blocking it out but it really became a topic of conversation this year. However, rather than having a plan for when and how to have children, I want it to happen naturally. I don’t want to set plans, and if it does happen, I want to consider it a blessing and accept it."
