The charity relay by singers from 'Mr. Trot' is creating a warm atmosphere.
On the 26th, singer Young-tak from Andong, Gyeongbuk, donated 100 million won to help wildfire victims and aid efforts. Young-tak said through his agency, "I was heartbroken by the news of the wildfire damage occurring in the Gyeongbuk area near my hometown of Andong, and I decided to donate with the hope that those affected can return to their daily lives as soon as possible," adding, "I hope to provide some comfort and hope to the residents in the affected area."
On the same day, Lee Chan-won also donated 100 million won to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to support wildfire victims in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam. Lee Chan-won's agency noted, "We are particularly concerned about the damage occurring in Uljin, his birthplace."
Singer Jang Min-ho entrusted 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross. Jang Min-ho said, "I hope this helps even a little for all those affected by the wildfire," and added, "I wish for the affected residents to recover their daily lives as soon as possible."
Jeong Dong-won and Kim Hee-jae joined forces with their fan club to donate. The Korean Red Cross (Chairman Kim Cheol-soo) announced on the 27th that singer Jeong Dong-won, appointed as a promotional ambassador in 2024, and his fan club "Universe Total Mobilization" donated 100 million won in funds and relief supplies worth 30 million won specifically for recovery from the wildfire in Jeong Dong-won's hometown of Hadong.
Jeong Dong-won expressed, "I sincerely hope this brings comfort to those affected by the sudden wildfire, and I extend my deepest condolences to the victims and their families. I also express my gratitude and support to the firefighters working tirelessly day and night, and I pray that we can return to our daily routines without further loss of life, including in my hometown of Hadong and across the nation."
Kim Hee-jae, on the same day, donated 50 million won through Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) under the name "Kim Hee-jae and Hee-rang Star" to assist wildfire victims.
Kim Hee-jae stated, "I wanted to convey warm feelings to those who have lost their daily lives due to unforeseen disasters," and added, "This donation is a meaningful contribution shared not just by myself, but alongside my ever-supportive fans, 'Hee-rang Star.' I hope our little gesture can provide someone with the strength to rise again."
Meanwhile, the wildfire that began on the 21st in the Yeongnam region, including Sancheong in Gyeongnam and Uiseong in Gyeongbuk, has surpassed the scale of damage recorded in the worst wildfire of 2000 on the eastern coast.
