Singer Tae Jin-ah noted that the dementia symptoms of his wife Lee Ok-hyung, known for her role in 'Okgyeongi,' have improved, evoking joy.
On the 27th, during the MBN entertainment program 'Teukjong Sesa,' singer Kim Yang shared her daily life.
That day, Kim Yang met with her trot senior, Tae Jin-ah. Tae Jin-ah met Kim Yang at his cafe and shared updates, saying, "How are you?" and "You sing Japanese songs artistically."
Especially, he said, "I can't watch television freely because of my wife. I can't watch for more than 2 or 3 minutes. I hope to keep looking at my wife's face. If I look elsewhere, she asks, 'Honey, what are you doing?'"
In reality, Lee Ok-hyung is currently battling dementia. Tae Jin-ah is known to have been caring for his wife with utmost sincerity for about six years.
Tae Jin-ah expressed joy, saying, "The good thing is that because I care for her sincerely, the progression of the dementia stopped suddenly. There hasn’t been any further progress." He added, "Recently, she called me 'Honey' and 'Dad.' When I heard her say 'Honey,' I hugged her and cried. I thought, 'This person’s memory is coming back.'"
Kim Yang and Tae Jin-ah were also particularly close to singer Song Dae-gwan, who recently passed away. Tae Jin-ah revealed, "Not long ago, I said, 'Honey, I heard that senior Song Dae-gwan passed away,' and she reacted with 'Oh my, what should I do?' Saying that made it seem like her memory is returning, and I cried again."
Tae Jin-ah married Lee Ok-hyung in 1981 and they have two sons. Notably, their second son, Lee Ru, is also active as a singer and actor. Lee Ok-hyung is also known as the protagonist of Tae Jin-ah's hit song 'Okgyeongi.'
