The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced on the 28th that Soyeon, the leader of the girl group (G)I-DLE, donated 100 million won for the recovery from wildfire damage in 2025.
The donation will be used for recovery and support for daily life for residents in wildfire-affected areas such as Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam, including emergency relief, provision of daily necessities, and operation of temporary shelters.
This donation is a continuation of the generous act, following the 100 million won contribution made last year for flood recovery during the heavy rains of 2024. Soyeon is also active as a member of the 'Hope Bridge Honors Club,' a group of major private donors of Hope Bridge.
Soyeon expressed, "I wanted to provide even a small comfort. I sincerely hope those suffering can restore their daily lives as soon as possible," adding, "I believe it is a time when all of us should extend a helping hand."
Meanwhile, Shin Hoon, the secretary-general of Hope Bridge, noted, "Soyeon's donation is a symbol of sincere solidarity beyond simple sharing," and said, "This sincerity will be a great comfort and help to the affected residents."
Hope Bridge is currently supporting over 420,000 relief items, including relief kits, shelter partitions, blankets, daily necessities, water, and food, to the wildfire-affected areas, and continues various on-site relief activities, including laundry support within the shelters. Additionally, meal support is also being provided for the firefighters and on-site emergency response team members deployed to the area.
