Actors Lee Ah-hyun, Oh Young-sil, and Ahn Yeon-hong demonstrate woman power through "Catch Your Luck."
The new KBS 1TV daily drama "Catch Your Luck" (written by Son Ji-hye, directed by Park Man-young and Lee Hae-woo), which will premiere on April 7 at 8:30 p.m., depicts the challenging growth stories of three friends who are rich, poor, and want to be wealthy, along with their families.
Lee Ah-hyun, Oh Young-sil, and Ahn Yeon-hong play the characters Mi-ja, Hye-sook, and Geum-ok, respectively, known as "the three musketeers." Mi-ja, the only daughter of a wealthy family, falls in love with and marries worthless laborer Mu-cheol, only to face betrayal from her husband, plunging her into a life-threatening crisis. Hye-sook, who used to live in a goshiwon with Mi-ja, marries the much-adored Dae-sik but finds herself reuniting with him as a building owner and tenant. Geum-ok, who runs Café Dandelion on the first floor of Mu-cheol's building, is the only one who knows the past stories of not only the three musketeers but also Mi-ja and Hye-sook.
Lee Ah-hyun, Oh Young-sil, and Ahn Yeon-hong raised expectations by revealing intriguing points for pre-audiences of "Catch Your Luck."
The three of them unanimously decided to participate as soon as they heard the names of the three male leads — Son Chang-min, Sunwoo Jae-duk, and Park Sang-myeon. Lee Ah-hyun said, "I was so excited reading the synopsis that my heart raced. When I heard about the participation of the three male leads, I thought I absolutely had to take part." Oh Young-sil noted, "When I found out that actor Son Chang-min would play the character Mu-cheol, I felt assured to follow along. The script also flowed smoothly, and the character settings and individual backstories were intriguing." Ahn Yeon-hong also added, "The title immediately resonated with me. I have a feeling I will catch my luck through this drama. I also wanted to participate because I wanted to work with senior actors I admire."
Lee Ah-hyun stated about her character, "Mi-ja is a wealthy daughter who chooses Mu-cheol, whose future is uncertain, based solely on love. She is proud and playful, but as the drama progresses, her character undergoes a 180-degree change, so I am contemplating how to express it. This is my first project with actors Oh Young-sil and Ahn Yeon-hong, and it feels like we get along as if we're in a gathering. It's an honor to be working with such talented actors who can create great synergy together."
Fully immersed in her character Hye-sook, Oh Young-sil said, "Hye-sook is devoted to her husband and strong in front of her family. However, she harbors sorrow over the past. I wish to portray the image of a K-mom and wife fluidly, without any sense of discomfort, and I am carefully preparing everything from visual aspects to the tone of each line, so please have high expectations."
On the other hand, Ahn Yeon-hong described her character Geum-ok as "a bright and affectionate neighborhood sister that could be found anywhere. No matter what trials come, she overcomes them and maintains a cheerful disposition even during tough times." She expressed her ambition to become "the icon of positivity in 'Catch Your Luck' and bring laughter to the living rooms of viewers."
Finally, the three introduced key viewing points for pre-audiences waiting for "Catch Your Luck." Lee Ah-hyun said, "As a flagship drama of KBS, I hope you all find your luck alongside people, a great script, excellent directors, and outstanding actors that form a perfect trio in 'Catch Your Luck.'"
Meanwhile, Oh Young-sil defined "Catch Your Luck" as "a drama that seems like it could drive you crazy with the money going around," suggesting that it would be interesting to see how far we can be dignified in front of money. Ahn Yeon-hong encouraged viewers to watch, saying, "Please look forward to the seasoned performances of the six middle-aged actors and the fresh chemistry with newcomer actors. We will work closely together to bring you laughter and emotion every day at 8:30 p.m."
