The NewJeans fandom Bunnies is conducting a truck protest aimed at the members for the second day. The goal is to urge conversations with the management company ADOR after parting ways with former representative Min Hee-jin.
On the 28th, some members of the NewJeans fandom held a truck protest in front of the HYBE headquarters located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The slogans for the protest included, "After three years of litigation, whether we win or lose, fans will be exhausted and leave," "I want to see three minutes on stage rather than three years wasted in litigation," "If you love fans and love the stage, it's time to return now," and "We have waited until now believing only in you, so please listen to us when we say it's time to return."
In addition, slogans included, "If you care about Bunnies, have the courage to end the futile litigation and return," "Support NewJeans, who will shine on stage regardless of which producer they work with, and stop the litigation with no chance of winning; now return to the stage," "Support NewJeans for the five instead of NJZ, who act for all six," and "This is the last warning sent from Bunnies to tell NewJeans to talk with ADOR."
Previously, they also conducted a protest on the 27th. The truck billboard sent by fans the day before attracted attention with messages such as, "Whose litigation is this for?" "You said it was a six-member group, but the penalty is for the five members of NewJeans," "It's a futile fight with astronomical penalties for damages; get a grip," "One year of a hiatus is already overdue; litigation will result in an additional three years for everyone to be forgotten," and "The risks that NewJeans must bear are too great to regret later."
They also emphasized the responsibility of adults, stating, "If adults care for NewJeans, do not put them in danger; the penalties are for NewJeans," "Adults around NewJeans, stop the gaslighting," "Why are adults hiding behind NewJeans as shields? The real responsibility lies with those who manipulated them," and "Bunnies support the five members of NewJeans, not just six; believe in your potential, not the producer's ability," demanding that conversations with ADOR are necessary.
The reason they are conducting the truck protest for the second day is that NewJeans has been showing resistance to a recent court's provisional ruling. On the 14th, the Seoul Central District Court accepted ADOR's request for a 'provisional injunction to maintain management status and prohibit advertisement contracts' against five members of NewJeans. It ruled that NewJeans should not engage in independent activities without ADOR.
However, the members of NewJeans announced a suspension of activities without an agreement with ADOR while attending the ComplexCon in Hong Kong, and in subsequent interviews with foreign media, they expressed, "We genuinely expected a different outcome, but everyone was shocked," and "We have endured so much, and finally, we've raised our voices about the absurdities we've experienced, but honestly, it's not going in a socially favorable direction. I think this situation itself shows that fact."
In response to NewJeans' unilateral suspension of activities, ADOR expressed, "We are very disappointed that they proceeded to perform under a different name despite the court's decision and declared their unilateral suspension of activities. ADOR aims to do its best for NewJeans under a valid exclusive contract. We hope to meet with the artists soon to discuss their future."
