Chef Anh Sung-jae's 'Mosu Seoul' recently suffered damages from an individual impersonating a KT employee and has filed a complaint with the police.
According to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the 27th, Mosu Seoul reported on the 21st that they sought punishment for the impersonator of the KT employee.
Previously, on the 23rd, Mosu Seoul reported through its official social media that there had been a crime in which someone impersonating KT had forwarded calls to Mosu's phone number and requested meal expense payments, and noted, "We filed a complaint with the police regarding this matter."
According to Mosu Seoul, the impersonator is known to have intercepted customer calls to the restaurant by forwarding them and embezzling the meal reservation payments.
First, the impersonator pretended to be a KT employee, calling the restaurant and saying, "There will be a fire nearby and the communication network is expected to be cut off," instructing it to switch the reservation main phone number to a temporary one.
However, the provided temporary number belonged to the impersonator. Subsequently, the impersonator received calls from customers and requested prepayment, reportedly receiving meal payments through a specific account.
Mosu Seoul has identified that the impersonator has caused damages to more than six customer groups.
Meanwhile, Chef Anh Sung-jae appeared as a judge on the popular Netflix show 'Culinary Class Wars' last year. He gained recognition as the only Michelin 3-star owner chef in Korea while serving as a judge alongside CEO Baek Jong-won.
Afterward, Chef Anh re-opened 'Mosu Seoul' on the 22nd. Mosu Seoul opened exclusively for dinner courses, with the price set at 420,000 won, drawing attention.
