Actors Ha Jung-woo and Park Byung-eun expressed their academic pride.
On the 28th, a video titled 'Sung Si-kyung's Meeting l Ha Jung-woo Park Byung-eun Calmly Keep Playing(?) Haha A Drink with Two Older Brothers~' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Sung Si-kyung SUNG SI KYUNG.'
On this day, Ha Jung-woo and Park Byung-eun revealed that they are 27-year friends, drawing attention. The two are close enough to drink soju and have fun at a pub the day before.
Ha Jung-woo noted, "I have seen my brother since I entered university. But there were hardly any students in the school, so we had no choice but to become close." Park Byung-eun recalled, "Especially in the theater department, we are together every day, practicing theater, gathering, and drinking every day." In response, Ha Jung-woo said, "After that, we weren't allowed to join outside clubs, only to join department internal clubs. It's just the actors' group and the directors' group, always seeing people and having a good time together."
The first among the two to gain recognition was Ha Jung-woo. They both went to auditions together during their unknown days, and Park Byung-eun shared that he got the role of 'Sang-wook's friend 1' at the audition for the movie 'Sex is Zero.'
Park Byung-eun recalled, "The guarantee was 800,000 won. Even for 12 episodes, it was less than what a supporting actor could earn," and he said he appeared a staggering 35 times to get noticed. He also mentioned that when 1-year junior Ha Jung-woo became a star first, he believed, "For the people around me to succeed and go up, I also must do well, and Jung-woo also has to do well, and we go up together in a win-win situation. That belief was always there."
Meanwhile, the two recalled their first impressions of each other. First, Ha Jung-woo remarked about Park Byung-eun, "His face was pale. At that time, he looked very cold and detached. In the theater department, if there was a year difference, they would nitpick and scold each other, as that was the culture at the time. But my brother was always cool about it." On the other hand, Park Byung-eun shared, "When I think of the theater department, I expected a lot of pale, flower boy types, but there were many athletes and technicians, so I was surprised," bringing laughter.
Ha Jung-woo replied, "Isn't the theater department famous? I imagined that handsome men and women would come from each region, but I thought, 'What is this?' I wondered if I entered the wrong place." He added, "There were hardly any practical scores during our time. It was only 20%. With the entrance exam accounting for 40% and the school grades 40%, you had to do some studying before entering."
Park Byung-eun agreed, saying, "He was really good at studying." He mentioned there was no theater department at Seoul National University, so he went to Chung-Ang University. Park Byung-eun said, "I am from Anyang Arts High School, and I was the first male student to go to Chung-Ang. When I aimed for Chung-Ang, the teacher laughed at me. I slept only 3 to 4 hours a day, studied at the reading room, and practiced my skills. I worked really hard."
