Actress Kang Mal-geum, who left a strong impression in the Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines," radiates a unique charm in the film "Lobby."

On the 28th, the film "Lobby" (directed by Ha Jung-woo, produced by Workhouse Company and Film Momentum, provided by Michigan Venture Capital and WYSIWYG STUDIOS, distributed by SHOWBOX) revealed still cuts of Kang Mal-geum.

The owner of an unlimited acting spectrum, Kang Mal-geum, will showcase her first-ever performance as a politician as Minister Jo in "Lobby." The film "Lobby" tells the story of a startup representative, Chang-wook (Ha Jung-woo), who only knows research and begins his first lobbying golf session to secure a $4 trillion national project.

Kang Mal-geum began to gain recognition for her delicate performance in her debut lead role in "Chansil Is Not Lucky," winning numerous rookie acting awards at various film festivals and receiving high praise from both the public and critics. Subsequently, she solidified her status as a skilled actress, showcasing a strong presence in various works such as the dramas "Bad Mom," "The Red Sleeve," and in the films "The Land of Happiness" and "Negotiation." Recently, she heightened the tension of the narrative as the innkeeper Kim-ja, who informs the main characters—who ran away to Busan—about the harshness of the world in the Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines," leaving viewers with a brief but profound impression. Although she appeared to be overflowing with warmth and kindness, after her true nature was revealed, she displayed a powerful performance that overwhelmed the atmosphere, capturing attention despite her brief appearance.

Transforming her image dramatically from the friendly host who warmly offered a room to the main characters, she takes on the role of the corrupt Minister Jo in "Lobby," who has no interest in business and only cares about immediate gains. Kang Mal-geum, who has mainly played the roles of good citizens with a benevolent image thus far, is expected to present a different acting transformation in this work as a person in a high position who is indifferent to others. At the recent production report, she noted, "It's a good role that helps the main character. I usually play ordinary people, but this time, I got to experience driving a sports car and learning golf, which was new. Playing a villain without being cautious allowed me to perform with freedom," predicting that her solid acting skills will add depth to her role as a unique villain not seen before.

Following the first preview screening, audiences who previewed the film commented, "Kang Mal-geum's acting was so good. In these times when there are few reasons to smile, I came out laughing" (CGV_Red***), "Is Kang Mal-geum a genius? Her acting is phenomenal" (CGV_Shu Shu***), "Unexpectedly hitting at the right timing with no areas of weakness... Kang Mal-geum is exceptional" (CGV_Cam***), generating positive reviews and raising expectations that Kang Mal-geum will fill this work with her overwhelming aura and exceptional acting abilities.

The film "Lobby," featuring actress Kang Mal-geum, who is known for her reliable performances on both OTT and in theaters, will be released nationwide on Wednesday, April 2.
