Wendy of the group Red Velvet has joined in providing support for wildfire victims, following Seulgi.

The Korea Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byung-jun) announced on the 27th that "Wendy of Red Velvet donated 50 million won for relief activities and recovery support for the victims affected by the wildfires in the Yeongnam region."

Wendy said, “I send my heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their homes due to the sudden wildfires,” and added, “I hope that the wildfires are extinguished quickly without any further damage.”

Wendy has also donated 100 million won to support victims of COVID-19 and was named the 2,602nd member of the Honor Society, a donation group of the Korea Community Chest of Korea, in 2021.

The wildfires that have occurred since the 21st, primarily in areas such as Sancheong, Gyeongnam, and Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, have surpassed the scale of damage recorded in the 2000 East Coast wildfire, which was the worst in history. As of now, there have been 26 fatalities and over 36,000 displaced individuals, prompting the Korea Community Chest of Korea to conduct a special fundraising campaign for wildfire relief until April 30.
