Baek Jong-won donated 100 million won to support victims of the forest fire.
The Korea Community Chest (Chairman Kim Byung-jun) stated on the 27th that "Baek Jong-won, CEO of Theborn Korea, donated 100 million won on the 26th to support the victims of the recent forest fires in the Yeongnam region."
Baek Jong-won noted, “I hope this is a small help to those who have lost their precious homes due to the forest fire,” and “I wish safety for all those, including firefighters, who are dedicated on-site.”
Kim Byung-jun, chairman of the Korea Community Chest, said, “I thank donor Baek Jong-won for consistently practicing sharing,” and “I hope the forest fire can be extinguished soon without further loss of life, and the Korea Community Chest will do its best for the daily recovery of the victims.”
Baek Jong-won, CEO of Theborn Korea, became the 2,409th member of the Honor Society, a high-value donor group of the Korea Community Chest, in September 2020, and participated in this special fundraising, becoming the first Honor Society Gold member in 2025 (with a cumulative donation of 500 million won).
The forest fire, which started on the 21st around the Yeongnam region, including Gyeongnam Sancheong and Gyeongbuk Uiseong, has recorded the worst damage ever, surpassing the scale of the Donghae Coast forest fire in 2000. So far, there have been 26 fatalities, and more than 36,000 victims have emerged. Thus, the Korea Community Chest is conducting a special fundraising campaign for forest fire victims until April 30.
