JYP Entertainment donated 500 million won to the social welfare corporation World Vision to help local residents and children's families affected by the large forest fires in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions.
The donation will be used to secure the survival rights of over 10,000 emergency support targets affected by forest fires in Uiseong and Sancheong counties and to support their psychological and emotional recovery. This includes the provision of emergency relief supplies, emergency living expenses, and financial support for household appliances, as well as psychological and emotional support for residents and children.
JYP Entertainment noted, "We express deep condolences to the victims who lost their homes due to the sudden forest fires, and we hope that local residents and children facing difficulties will find hope and return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Earlier, JYP Entertainment donated 300 million won to World Vision for children and victims affected by the large forest fires in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions in March 2022, and in February 2023, it donated 500 million won to support children and residents affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
JYP Entertainment is systematizing its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to give back to society the support and love it has received from the public, and is actively developing various social contribution projects.
Since hosting a year-end charity concert at Samsung Medical Center in 2002 to bring joy to young patients in the pediatric ward, JYP Entertainment has been running various projects since 2019 under the catchphrase "EDM (Every Dream Matters! : Every dream in the world is precious)." These include the "EDM Treatment Fee Support Project," which supports the medical costs of children with intractable diseases facing financial difficulties, the "EDM Wish Fulfillment Project," which provides emotional support to these children to inspire hope, and the eco-friendly initiative "Love Earth" aimed at fostering healthier living environments.
