Actor Ahn Jae-wook contributed to the recovery from the large forest fire damage.
The Korean Red Cross announced on the 27th that its ambassador Ahn Jae-wook donated 20 million won for the recovery from the large forest fires that have occurred nationwide in regions such as Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, Ulsan, Gangwon, and Jeonnam.
Ambassador Ahn Jae-wook said, "While it may not be a large amount, I hope this can be of some help to everyone affected by the forest fires," and added, "I hope those working to extinguish the fires, as well as the victims who are deeply troubled, can find strength."
Ahn Jae-wook has been active as an ambassador for the Korean Red Cross since 2016 and has been a member of the "Korean Red Cross Honors Club," a group for major donors, contributing to support for COVID-19, forest fires, flooding, earthquakes, and vulnerable groups. He has also continuously participated in volunteer activities at forest fire sites, volunteered in the Turkey earthquake area, and donated his voice talents, spreading a positive influence.
Kim Cheol-soo, president of the Korean Red Cross, expressed gratitude for "Ambassador Ahn Jae-wook's sincere donation and consistent humanitarian efforts," and said, "We will do our best to ensure that the victims of the forest fires can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
