On the 27th, Seventeen donated 1 billion won through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, saying, "We hope this small help reaches those affected by the wildfire. We express our deep condolences to the victims and send comfort to everyone who is going through this difficult time."
The six members of IVE also contributed 200 million won, with each member donating 100 million won to support wildfire victims and improve the treatment and awareness of firefighters dedicated to disaster sites. BTS members J-Hope and Suga each contributed 100 million won to support wildfire victims in the Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions.
JYP Entertainment, which includes 2PM, TWICE, and Stray Kids, donated 500 million won to help local residents and children affected by the disaster through the World Vision social welfare corporation. SM Entertainment also generously contributed 300 million won for wildfire recovery.
Couples also performed acts of kindness together. The couple Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon donated 100 million won and 20 million won, saying, "We hope everyone can quickly return to a peaceful daily life even in the midst of this sudden disaster." According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the 27th, the simultaneous wildfire incident that occurred on the 21st in the Gyeongsang region has resulted in numerous casualties, with 26 lives lost. In Uiseong and Andong, where the wildfire damage was most severe, 29,911 residents have evacuated.
As of 5 a.m. that day, the damaged forest area was tallied at 36,900 hectares. This exceeds the damage area of 23,794 hectares recorded in the 2000 East Coast wildfire by more than 10,000 hectares. The simultaneous wildfire disaster has continued for a week, causing extensive damage.
