'Divorce insurance' presents an office romantic comedy that guarantees excitement and fun.

The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Divorce insurance,' which will premiere on Mar. 31 (Monday), is directed by Lee Won-seok and Choi Bo-kyung, written by Lee Tae-yoon, planned by CJ ENM and Studio Genie, and produced by Mongjaksso and Studio Mondo. It is a pure guarantee type office romantic comedy showcasing divorce insurance products to cope with the hottest disaster of our time, which is divorce. It offers unique empathy through divorce insurance, which guarantees the lives of those whose potential disaster is divorce or unexpected separations.

Above all, expectations are heightened by the collaboration of director Lee Won-seok, who showcased a sensory and witty directorial style in the film , and writer Lee Tae-yoon, who has gained public love through fresh and unique concepts in works like 'The Tale of Nokdu,' 'His Private Life,' and 'Don't Dare to Dream.' Director Lee Won-seok, making his drama directing debut with 'Divorce insurance,' noted, "The idea of quantifying the meeting, love, and separation of people was surprising. It is a script that creatively and uniquely reinterprets the subject of divorce, which also contains a story with a positive influence, making it deeply resonant."

He added, "'Divorce insurance' can be seen as a story of people who have been hurt in relationships and meetings. However, it is a warm and kind drama that makes the process of overcoming wounds delightful and also an emotional fairytale." Writer Lee Tae-yoon explained, "Although it is a drama centered on divorce, the ability to watch it with a smile is the charm of 'Divorce insurance.' I tried to capture not only love but also life philosophies realized through experiences of change and growth after divorce, featuring protagonists with divorce experiences."

The novel concept of 'Divorce insurance,' set in an insurance company, which has not been well-explored in romantic comedies, is also interesting. Writer Lee Tae-yoon expressed, "I thought it would be great to have insurance that guarantees life after divorce, reflecting the insurance ad’s claim that 'life is guaranteed after encountering an unexpected disaster.' At the same time, my curiosity about the process of creating insurance sparked, leading me to start researching materials." He explained the creative intent, saying, "I saw a positive aspect in divorce insurance that it could diagnose marriage. Rather than focusing on the sensational and negative aspects of divorce, the message is about overcoming unexpected divorces and living a happier life that is more 'me,' hoping for encouragement."

To capture the unique concept of divorce insurance created by the insurance company's product development team, director Lee Won-seok paid attention to art as well. He stated, "The stories of the main characters are based on the reality we live in. To package our reality in a fairy-tale way, I focused on many colors and non-standard compositions and artistic elements. It was not easy, but it was a necessary task to maintain the unique atmosphere that only this drama possesses."

The solid character portrayals by reliable actors like Lee Dong-wook, Lee Joo-bin, Lee Kwang-soo, and Lee Da-hee, who are well-known for their roles in other dramas, cannot be overlooked. Director Lee Won-seok remarked, "Commonly, they have a child-like charm. While they appear as adults, their innocence shines through. They fit the work perfectly," adding, "The characters in the piece are pure-hearted individuals who endeavor sincerely so that others do not have to experience their painful and difficult experiences. Therefore, the image and feeling that the actors possess were significantly important, and fortunately, the optimal casting was completed."

Writer Lee Tae-yoon also revealed, "When the casting was completed, it was the kind of casting I had dreamed of, so I was in disbelief." He continued, "'No Gi-jun' has unspoken pain but is a character who is honest about his emotions. Thinking of an actor who can balance this delight and seriousness, and have the ability to navigate between conviction and romance, there was no one but Lee Dong-wook. 'Kang Han' is fundamentally a good person who thinks of others before himself, but ironically, he is also the strongest. I thought Lee Joo-bin's clear expression matched perfectly with 'Kangsus.' Furthermore, Lee Kwang-soo's sense and acting ability of knowing when to quicken and slow down made the character 'An Jeong-man' appear incredibly sophisticated. For 'Jeon Na-rae,' I wanted it to be distinct. There was no one more suited to playing the role of Jeon Na-rae, who is clear, definite, and knows how to enjoy her freedom, than Lee Da-hee."

In addition, the solid character play by trusted actors such as Kim Won-hae, Chu So-jung, and Yoo Hyun-soo will also be a point of interest. Director Lee Won-seok stated, "When you see the actors together, viewers will also feel good," adding, "The atmosphere and aura created by good people has been proven."

Lastly, director Lee Won-seok said, "This is a drama like a sweet and warm 'milk tea' that offers comfort in a world where it's hard to get through each day. It is a 'feel-good drama' that we worked hard on with the writer, cast, and all staff, so please support it a lot." Writer Lee Tae-yoon highlighted the chemistry of the actors during the formation of the TF team from the first meeting between Gi-jun and Han, and the process of finding the justification that divorce could also be insurance, stating, "Like the line in the drama that 'marriage and divorce may appear opposite, but the purpose is the same: to be happy,' we hope that viewers will be a little happier through our drama. We ask for a lot of support for the new beginning of 'Divorce insurance.'"

Meanwhile, tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Divorce insurance' will premiere on Mar. 31 (Monday) at 8:50 p.m. and will be released to global audiences through the streaming service Amazon Prime Video.
