Nam Bora's mother's youthful beauty caught the eye.
On the 26th episode of tvN's entertainment program 'You Quiz on the Block', actress Nam Bora appeared with her mother, eldest brother Nam Kyung-han, seventh brother Nam Se-bin, ninth sister Nam Se-mi, tenth sister Nam So-ra, and youngest brother Nam Young-il.
That day, Yoo Jae-suk remarked upon seeing Nam Bora's mother, "It seems there are youthful genes in the family." Nam Bora's mother, Lee Young-mi, amazed viewers with her youthful beauty that belied her age of 61.
Nam Bora noted that she still watches past broadcasts that featured the 13 siblings, saying, "We lived like in a dormitory. The boys used the master bedroom, and the girls shared a small room. We had three computers, and we had to share time on them."
Younger sister Nam So-ra said, "I wanted my own space, so I decorated my own corner on the balcony. I had a small drawer and collected dolls," adding, "When I eventually moved out, I found myself missing my family. Although I enjoyed the bustling days of my childhood, I like my current situation more."
Nam Bora said, "Sometimes I'm envious of the youngest. They really get everything done for them." Youngest brother Nam Young-il remarked, "Being the youngest seems great. My sisters do everything for me," and added, "I don't get along well with my brothers. I recently saw the eldest brother after not meeting for a long time," eliciting laughter from those around.
Nam Bora stated, "The bean sprout dish my mom makes was really delicious. Since my mom and dad both worked, I observed her cooking from the side and later recreated it at home, capturing the same taste. I felt a thrill at that moment."
Nam Bora remarked, "Even now I can't make meals for 2 or 3 people well," mentioning that she prepares 500 dumplings and 50 rolls of kimbap, drawing attention. Their mother of 13 siblings said, "During picnic season, there were always ingredients for kimbap in the refrigerator because everyone had different picnic dates."
Nam Bora shared, "Since my mom ran a restaurant and was busy, she made kimbap on picnic days and sports days. On the day of the college entrance exam, I took the lunch box she made," and added that her mother noted, "From the eldest son down, the children either repeated a year or had to take the exam multiple times, so last year was the only year there was no college entrance exam," surprising those around her.
