Actor Ryu HaeJoon showcased a tense interaction with Park EunBin in "Hyperknife."
Ryu HaeJoon captured attention by appearing as the character GiYoung in episodes 3 and 4 of the Disney+ original series "Hyperknife," which was released on the 26th.
"Hyperknife" is a medical thriller featuring a fierce confrontation between SeOk, a once-promising genius doctor, and his mentor DeokHee (played by Sul KyungGu), who has brought him to ruin. From the first episode, the fast-paced developments and gripping direction, along with the explosive performances of the cast, have generated significant buzz.
The son of a patient SeOk once operated on, GiYoung, requested help from SeOk, claiming he had received a tip about seeing his father in a mental hospital. While searching for his father's traces in the closed ward of the mental hospital, GiYoung suddenly felt intense anxiety and was in distress. Subsequently, confronted by a tipster who was demanding a reward without solid evidence, GiYoung exclaimed, "If you played with it all day, you should take responsibility," and charged at the tipster. The struggle ended with GiYoung falling from a cliff, leaving viewers on edge.
Ryu HaeJoon effectively depicted the process of searching for the missing father alongside Park EunBin with tension. He conveyed the contrast between GiYoung's past and present through natural atmosphere differences and delicately acted out feelings of suspicion and anger, enhancing the immersion.
Meanwhile, Ryu HaeJoon has made a name for himself with his fresh appearance and straightforward acting in dramas such as "Our Blues," "Babel Syndrome," "Please Take Care of My Last Life," "Connection," and "Dog Barking." He is steadily building his filmography by taking on new characters each time.
