Rookie singer Gong-won is finally making his official debut in the music industry through Archive Morning.
Gong-won released his first mini album '01' today (27th) at 6 p.m. through all music sites.
'01' is an album that narrates various stories about dreams in Gong-won's unique emotional style. Among the five tracks are the pre-released song 'Yunseul', along with the double title tracks 'Fireworks' and 'Moon', with shoegazing (a subgenre of alternative rock) participation from the band Parannoul throughout the album.
The first title track 'Fireworks' is a shoegazing-based song that blends dazzling guitar sounds with calm vocals. The gradually layered instrumentation and impressive outro evoke the image of fireworks lighting up the night sky, capturing the longing for a fleeting moment to last forever.
Another title track 'Moon' features a bright and lively melody with diverse arrangements, bringing freshness to the development with changing BPM and break parts after the first verse's chorus. The song expresses a hopeful determination to open the door and be willing to be broken and shattered, transcending fear.
In addition, the dreamlike band sound and repetitive vocal lines in 'When You Close Your Eyes' create an ethereal atmosphere, while '01', consisting only of guitar and vocals, captures Gong-won's heartfelt determination ahead of his debut. His deep and unique timbre, contrasting with his youthful appearance, is expected to leave a fresh impression on listeners.
Gong-won is the first rookie artist introduced by Archive Morning, home to talented artists like Jo Kwon, Hong Isak, and Kim Je-hyung. Just like a 'park' where anyone can comfortably stay, he chose his stage name hoping that his music would become a space of rest and comfort for listeners. With strong support from Archive Morning, Gong-won plans to consistently present music that reflects his own color.
On the same day as the release of '01', Gong-won also unveiled a live session music video for the title track 'Fireworks' and will take the stage for his first live performance at Mint Paper's regular concert 'Another Nice Day' on April 3rd.
