A letter that the late Kim Sae-ron was unable to send has been made public.

On the afternoon of the 27th, a press conference was held by the legal representative of the late Kim Sae-ron's family at Space Share Gangnam Station in Seocho District, Seoul. The family’s attorney, Bu Ji-seok from Law Firm Buyou, drew attention by revealing a letter that the deceased intended to send to Kim Soo-hyun, along with a message exchanged between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron in 2016. This was reportedly written in April after receiving content verification from Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist.

Kim Sae-ron wrote, "Hello, I'm Roni. Are you doing well? I wanted to leave a message to clear up the misunderstandings between us. I couldn't contact anyone at the company, and I was scared of the lawsuit. But I'm sorry for posting the photo. I hoped the company would reach out, and that's why I posted it. I'm sorry for the harm I caused. I'm really scared and uncomfortable with the people from Gold Medalist. Since leaving the company, no one has contacted me. I don't want to torment you, older brother."

He continued, "I sincerely wish for your happiness. We've known each other for about 5 to 6 years. It's my first love and my last love, so I hope you don't avoid me. It feels empty and disheartening to see you avoiding me and not even reaching out. Can't we just get along? No more, no less, we can at least support each other. Do you really hate me that much? Why? If this letter doesn't reach you either, then our relationship will really end forever. That would make me sad."

Especially, Kim Sae-ron expressed in her letter, "I won’t interfere in your life anymore, so please don’t hate me... I hope a day will come when we can meet and smile. 010-xxxx-xxxx is my number. Please reply when you read this letter. I have no way to convey my true feelings. I hope my home address remains the same, and that it’s you reading this, not Robe. I continue to support you in your work and love, and I hope our time together isn’t remembered negatively."

Kim Sae-ron, who was called a "child prodigy" and grew into a wonderful actress, faced public backlash after causing a drunk driving accident in May 2022. She bowed her head in a handwritten apology, stating, "I have caused great harm to many people, including the merchants of the surrounding area, citizens, and those who are restoring the situation due to my poor judgment and actions," but she found it hard to avoid punishment.

Despite spending time in self-reflection, Kim Sae-ron faced criticism for her social media activities. In particular, she caused a stir by posting a photo with actor Kim Soo-hyun cheek-to-cheek last March, which she quickly deleted. This led to greater backlash, and she endured the arrows of criticism directed at her.

Ultimately, Kim Sae-ron was found collapsed at her home on Feb. 16. A friend discovered her and reported it, but she had ended her short life of 25 years. There were no signs of homicide or a suicide note found. Kim Sae-ron chose to tie up the troubled 25 years of her short life herself.

Following this incident, the family fell into deep shock and pointed arrows at Kim Soo-hyun. On the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, it was claimed that Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun since her minor years and raised suspicions of "grooming crimes." Additionally, Kim Soo-hyun's agency pressured her by sending a content verification document regarding the 700 million won compensation for her drunk driving incident, and it was claimed that he remained indifferent.

In response, Gold Medalist stated that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron for a period from summer 2019 until fall 2020, when she was an adult and denied the related allegations. They also rebutted that the content verification was simply left for legal procedures in the process of handling the penalty for Kim Sae-ron's drunk driving accident, and they had never pressured her for repayment.

Kim Sae-ron explained the reason she posted and then deleted a photo with Kim Soo-hyun, expressing her anxiety following the content verification process. However, this letter ultimately never reached Kim Soo-hyun.

Bu Ji-seok explained, "After receiving the content verification, I tried to deliver the letter in early April last year, but I couldn't deliver it as the apartment was not accessible to just anyone," and added by revealing photos of self-harm from the deceased, saying, "I wanted to show what Kim Sae-ron's state of mind was like after receiving the content verification."
