Singer Yebit revealed her battle with thyroid cancer.
On the 25th, Yebit opened up on her personal social media, saying, "It's been a while since I've updated you all. Spring is here before we know it. I suddenly received a diagnosis of thyroid cancer last November and underwent surgery this February, so I had a particularly long winter."
That day, Yebit explained, "Thanks to all the support and encouragement from those around me, I am slowly recovering well day by day." She added, "The surgery went well, but since it's in such a sensitive area, I'm having some difficulty using my voice freely, so I'm taking some time for practice and rehabilitation."
She continued, "Even if it takes a little time, I will definitely return with a wonderful voice!" She noted, "It might be a 'good cancer,' but honestly, I was really scared and it was tough. Though I regret the time I had to pause, thinking about a healthier and stronger future gives me a lot of strength."
Yebit concluded, "Anyway, I hope everyone stays healthy, and I will return with new music that will be completed after a good recovery!"
Meanwhile, Yebit debuted in 2020 with the digital single "Smile for Me" after winning a bronze medal at the 29th Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition in 2018.
