SBS's unique fantasy romantic comedy historical drama 'Haunted Palace,' drawing attention as a standout in 2025, has confirmed its first broadcast on April 18 at 9:50 p.m.
On April 18 at 9:50 p.m., the new SBS drama 'Haunted Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung, directed by Yoon Seong-sik), which follows 'Buried Hearts,' depicts the shaman Yeori, who rejects the destiny of a medium, and her first love, Yoon Gap, who is trapped in the body of the dragon Kaengcheol, encountering the vengeful Palcheogwi with a grudge against the royal family, leading to a physical conflict in a fantasy romance.
In particular, Yook Sung-jae plays Yoon Gap, the first love of Yeori and the swordman possessed by the evil spirit dragon 'Kaengcheol,' while Kim Ji-yeon portrays Yeori, the only granddaughter of a famous shaman, endowed with extraordinary abilities but rejecting the destiny of a medium, living as a 'glasses' artisan, raising expectations for a romantic chemistry between a couple of the same age.
Amidst this, the 'Haunted Palace' team unveiled a main poster featuring Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon, appearing as though they are the protagonists of an ancient folktale. The central image of Kim Ji-yeon, depicted in a minwa style, catches the eye. Transforming into the 'pure white shaman,' Kim Ji-yeon captivates viewers with a mystical and clear aura, oscillating between unwavering charisma. In contrast, Yook Sung-jae, as the 'evil spirit dragon,' showcases a strong presence behind Kim Ji-yeon. His image closely sticking to Kim Ji-yeon could evoke the sense of being a divine spirit summoned to the shaman, or resemble a bodyguard staunchly protecting her, sparking interest.
Meanwhile, the chemistry between the two, expressed through their faces, elicits a humorous delight. Kim Ji-yeon, refusing to even glance at her first love, a sworn enemy, who embodies Kaengcheol, generates a chilling breeze, while Yook Sung-jae, with his handsome looks, surprisingly emanates a playful and arrogant aura as he gazes at Kim Ji-yeon, showcasing the vibe of an evil spirit. This raises curiosity as to why the two have become entangled in such a complicated fate regarding their bodies and souls. Furthermore, the anticipation for the premiere of 'Haunted Palace,' featuring the whimsical atmosphere, subtle excitement, and comedic hostility between the 'evil spirit dragon' Yook Sung-jae and the 'shaman' Kim Ji-yeon, skyrockets.
