The news of singer Park Ki-young's marital breakdown has been delayed in coming to light. Two years ago, after five years of marriage to a tango dancer who is a year older, they divorced.

On the 26th, Park Ki-young's agency confirmed to OSEN, "It is true that Park Ki-young divorced tango dancer Han Geol-eum," adding, "I do not know the exact timing, but it is true that they divorced about two years ago."

Park Ki-young and Han Geol-eum appeared together in May 2016 on KBS 2TV’s "Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend" special for the month of family. The two showcased a spectacular performance by interpreting Um Jung-hwa's "The Rose of Betrayal" through tango.

After that, Park Ki-young and Han Geol-eum continued their relationship as teacher and student before developing into a romantic relationship from 2017, culminating in their wedding that year.

At that time, Park Ki-young wrote, "I said that I would have a meal with family and friends on a nice day, and today is that day. Today, I marry Teacher Han Geol-eum. I am happy and excited to share this good news. Have a nice day. Thank you."

However, around 2023, after about five years of marriage, Park Ki-young and Han Geol-eum decided to end their marriage and go their separate ways. Despite the pain of divorce, Park Ki-young released her best album titled "Love You More" to celebrate her 25th anniversary of her debut and continued her activities.

Earlier, Park Ki-young married a lawyer who is a year older in 2010 and welcomed a daughter. However, they divorced in 2015.

Park Ki-young debuted in 1998 with the title track 'Do You Remember?' from her first album, a modern rock style song. She is loved as a singer-songwriter with a broad musical spectrum that encompasses a variety of genres including crossover, R&B soul, and electronic, as well as outstanding skills in songwriting and composition.

Han Geol-eum studied for four years in Argentina, the birthplace of tango, and is a representative tango dancer in South Korea. He is the Director General of a tango school and heads the tango performance group Los Gatos as well as holding the position of chairman of the Korean Argentina Tango Instructors Association.
