Singer Yves swept the global major charts, successfully achieving a comeback.
According to the global short-form video platform TikTok on the 25th (local time), the song "DIM" from Yves' second EP topped the U.S. "Viral 50" chart. The track also settled at 40th place on the "Top 50" chart, reflecting its high popularity locally.
To prove this, the number of short-form videos utilizing Yves' "DIM" has currently exceeded 400,000 on TikTok, igniting a global craze. Notably, the legendary pop group ABBA, along with the official TikTok account of the United States' largest professional wrestling organization WWE, has created meme videos using the audio of "DIM," generating buzz.
Not only on TikTok, but "DIM" has also risen to first place on the "Global K-Pop" chart announced by Shazam, the world's largest music search platform, creating a popularity surge. "DIM" entered the "Global Top 200" at 192nd place.
"DIM" is a song that evokes a mysterious atmosphere with melodies and lyrics that seem to be instinctively expressed in the unconscious. Using a meme format of "She doesn't know it yet, but..." the video by Yves has surpassed 2.2 million views on TikTok, and the audio of "DIM" has also rapidly gained popularity.
Yves gained recognition for her outstanding musicality with two EPs, "LOOP" and "I Did," released as a solo artist last year. Bolstered by this success, she dominated various overseas charts' year-end settlements, with the debut track "LOOP" being selected as the "Best K-Pop Song of 2024" by the British magazines NME and DAZED, and "I Did" being chosen as the "Best K-Pop Album of 2024" by the U.S. music publication Billboard.
Evolving from "Solo of the Year" to "All-Time Solo," Yves will kick off her debut solo Latin America tour "2025 YVES APPLE CINNAMON CRUNCH TOUR IN LATIN AMERICA" in Mexico City on April 1, continuing her global upward trend.
