For Eagle Brothers is shining with the vibrant performances of its quirky supporting characters.
The KBS2 weekend drama For Eagle Brothers, which airs every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. (scripted by Kwon Hoon-suk and directed by Choi Sang-yeol and Lee Jin-ah), enhances the drama's enjoyment not only with its leading roles but also with the outstanding performances of its remarkable supporting cast. They play their roles perfectly and make the production even more brilliant.
First, Dokgo-tak (Choi Byeong-mo) and Jang Mi-ae (Bae Hae-sun) capture attention with a charm that seems like a villain but is not quite villainous. Dokgo-tak spreads all sorts of rumors about Ma Gwang-suk (Uhm Ji-won) and pushes her into a crisis to seize control of the Eagle liquor company. However, despite Dokgo-tak's interference, Gwang-suk's liquor business overcomes the crisis and continues to thrive. Mi-ae, unlike her husband, sends significant glances whenever he tries to put the liquor company in danger, leaving viewers curious about what story is hidden beneath.
In the midst of this, Dokgo-tak, dissatisfied with his wife's spending, often raised his voice and scolded her. Despite Dokgo-tak's annoyance, Mi-ae's cute antics to get her husband's credit card triggered laughter. While they bicker, when it comes to connecting their daughter Dokgo-se-ri (Shin Seul-gi) with Han Dong-seok's (Ahn Jae-wook) son Han-gyeol (Yoon Jun-won), they unite as one, showcasing a lovable couple chemistry. Thus, Choi Byeong-mo and Bae Hae-sun have perfectly embodied their characters, further enriching the drama.
On the other hand, Gwang-suk's mother, Gong Joo-sil (Park Joon-geum), showcased a strong presence as the largest shareholder of the Eagle liquor company. Joo-sil was not happy about her daughter taking over the liquor business, but she took a step back upon witnessing Gwang-suk's sincere attitude. However, when Gwang-suk claimed she would take responsibility for her brother-in-law's family, Joo-sil erupted in anger towards her siblings. This moment showcased a mother's love for her daughter and moved viewers.
Additionally, Joo-sil emitted a different kind of synergy with the factory manager of the liquor business, Go Ja-dong (Kim Jun-bae). Ja-dong, while arguing with Joo-sil, took care of her in a dependable manner. While he looked after Bum-su's (Yoon Bak) daughter Oh Ha-ni (Lee Bom), he observed sleeping Joo-sil lovingly, saying, "The little one needs to sleep, but the big one is snoring," and when he carried the heavily intoxicated Joo-sil home, his sweet demeanor presented a stark contrast to his rough appearance. This sparked curiosity about any changes that might occur between Joo-sil and Ja-dong.
Moreover, the dramatic tension peaked with the appearance of Oh Cheon-su's (Choi Dae-cheol) wife, Kang So-yeon (Han Su-yeon). Not only did she demand the liquor company's inheritance, but her relentless behavior toward Cheon-su, asking him to divorce her, left viewers in shock.
In addition, as Cheon-su learned that the real reason for the divorce was So-yeon's infidelity, he was shocked and was taken to the emergency room unconscious after taking sleeping pills; curiosity grows about how she will react when she becomes aware of this fact in the next broadcast.
In this way, the supporting actors of For Eagle Brothers have enriched the drama, providing a variety of spectacles for viewers at home. Attention is focused on the diverse stories they will unravel harmoniously with the leading characters.
Episode 17 of the KBS2 weekend drama For Eagle Brothers will air on the evening of the 29th at 8 p.m.
