In 'Dad and Me,' Jeong Myeong-ho, the son of the late Kim Soo-mi, reflected on the moment of his mother's passing, expressing his longing for her.
On the broadcast of TV Chosun's entertainment show 'Dad and Me' aired on the 25th, Jeong Myeong-ho recalled the time of his mother, the late Kim Soo-mi's death.
Although approximately six months have passed since her departure, tributes and condolences from those who remember the late Kim Soo-mi continue. His story was revealed for the first time. Seo Hyo-rim, who appeared in season 1 as the 'daughter representative' and daughter-in-law of the late Kim Soo-mi, along with her son Jeong Myeong-ho, visited the empty home of the deceased.
The two said, “It’s now an empty house without mom, and it’s sad because there are no traces left,” and added, “There were all the trophies and things.” They were unable to continue speaking. They especially paused in the kitchen, which the deceased loved.
While looking around the bedroom, Jeong Myeong-ho recalled seeing his mother in the bedroom. He said, “My father called in the early morning, saying something seemed strange,” and added, “She was lying face down on the bed, and in that brief moment when I entered and moved her, her body felt cold, and it seemed there was no breath. I immediately called 119, and when the paramedics arrived, it was already a few hours after cardiac arrest,” sharing that terrifying moment. He said his mind was ringing.
Jeong Myeong-ho said, “I still can't believe it. I haven’t fully accepted (mom's absence). I need more time,” and, “It’s still not organized enough to express in words.”
Seo Hyo-rim also said, “Of course, I can’t believe it; my husband was also in shock,” noting that the death was sudden for everyone. Seo Hyo-rim mentioned, “From my perspective, I think she carried a lot of burdens, and it seems she was under a lot of stress.” It's mentioned that there was indeed stress due to unpaid appearance fees while she was alive. She experienced a 'hyperglycemia shock.'
In the meantime, Seo Hyo-rim recorded a notably long phone conversation and played it for her husband. The voice of her mother, who was thrilled with the birthday celebration from her son. Jeong Myeong-ho, who listened in silence, said, “It’s been a long time since I heard her voice,” and added, “I often call out for mom when I’m alone, but I just want to hear her answer once.” When asked what kind of mother she was, Jeong Myeong-ho replied, “To me, she was the best mom; she treated her children really well,” and said, “To me, she was everything.”
