In 2019, Seo Hyerim got married to Kim Sumi's son, Jeong Myungho, and particularly, she and Kim Sumi garnered attention for their close and special mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship, which developed through their interactions in a drama. However, in October 2014, during a sudden farewell, Seo Hyerim shouted, "I’m sorry, mom" toward the hearse, crying hard enough to move those watching.
Most importantly, on this day, Seo Hyerim and Jeong Myungho invited actress Kim Young-ok, who was a close friend of Kim Sumi. This was to serve Kimchi stew made from Kim Sumi's special kimchi and a dish, boiled fish with vegetables, which the late Kim had passed down. Kim Young-ok shared, "I received the cooking techniques very well," prompting Seo Hyerim to feel proud.
