(Following interview ①) Actress Ha Seo-yoon revealed behind-the-scenes details about joining 'Streaming.'
On the 26th, an interview with actress Ha Seo-yoon of the film 'Streaming' was held at the PrainTPC headquarters in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul.
The film 'Streaming' is a thriller in which Woo Sang (played by Kang Ha-neul), the number one crime channel streamer in terms of subscribers, discovers clues to an unresolved serial murder case and broadcasts his pursuit of the culprit in real-time.
In the film, Ha Seo-yoon appears as the guest streamer 'Matilda,' who co-hosts the broadcast with Woo Sang. He does anything for fame and clashes with Woo Sang, producing a unique chemistry that heightened the immersion in the events occurring in real-time.
Director Jo Jang-ho noted, 'Matilda is a character defined by her desires. The driving force of desire that clashes with Woo Sang was critical, and Ha Seo-yoon had no hesitation at any moment during the audition, displaying the strongest commitment to the role among all applicants,' explaining the casting decision.
When asked about the audition process for joining 'Streaming,' Ha Seo-yoon recalled, 'I auditioned about twice. The audition format initially involved creating a one-minute YouTube broadcast. I was making a broadcast, and the director had me do a lot of improvisational acting at the audition. At that time, I had no filmography, so they tried various things, and I made a lot of effort not to regret it.'
She continued, 'In the second round of auditions, there were a total of two roles. One required me to prepare a dance, and the other was a broadcasting role. I bought clothes that suited the character from Dongdaemun and prepared them. I had to give a sexy feel, but I had no such clothes at home. When I looked for reference materials, I saw that YouTubers wear a variety of clothes, so I tried to find similar outfits as much as possible. I even prepared separate BGM for my dance. (The director) seemed to appreciate that. Thankfully, they regarded it as passion and will, which turned into a great opportunity.'
In particular, she confessed, 'Before and after 'Streaming,' there was a significant change when I auditioned for subsequent works. When I auditioned before, I was very eager to do well, and my desire to take on this role overtook me, which affected my acting. It might have come off as excessive. However, when I auditioned for 'Streaming,' I let go of everything and auditioned without any regrets.'
She added, 'After doing that, the results of the auditions were good, and I realized, 'This is the right way to do it.' It has been greatly beneficial since then. Of course, it would be great to pass the audition, but I focused on performing without regrets.'
