BTS member Jin showcased his exceptional athletic skills and was recognized by the national team.
On the 25th at 9 p.m., the 27th episode of the self-produced variety show 'Run, Jin' was posted on the BTS YouTube channel, featuring Jin's fencing challenge alongside 2024 Paris Olympics fencing gold medalists Gu Bon-gil and Oh Sang-wook. This episode was planned in response to the fervent wish of the ARMY fans who wanted to see 'Fencing Jin.' In particular, Oh Sang-wook, who formed a bond with Jin on last year's tvN show 'Handsome Guys on Sundays,' appeared as a guest coach, drawing attention. Upon meeting, they displayed their friendliness by sharing New Year greeting-related episodes.
Jin made an entrance in a stylish fencing outfit and quickly mastered the techniques, shining as a 'fencing genius.' Previously, Jin had consistently challenged various sports such as UFC (Goodbye, Jin episode), rhythmic gymnastics (Rhythmic Gymnastics Day episode), and climbing (Beat Jin (feat. Climbing) episode) on 'Run, Jin.' While struggling with the high difficulty, he showcased his sense of variety, and with surprising stamina and athletic sense, he demonstrated the traits of 'a sports talent stolen by K-pop.'
He once again proved his worth in this fencing episode. On 'Fencing Day 1,' Jin started intensive training under the guidance of Gu Bon-gil and Oh Sang-wook. He surprised everyone by successfully completing the difficult mission of 'piercing an apple with a fencing sword,' a challenge that is not easy even for national representatives. In the subsequent balloon-popping contest, he claimed victory against Oh Sang-wook, who praised Jin's quick learning ability, stating he was 'the top among the daily members.'
At the end of the video, he faced off against an elementary school player for a bet on getting off work. Jin actively managed the match in a more intense flow than expected, and coach Oh Sang-wook acknowledged his athletic talent, applauding him.
Meanwhile, the next episode of 'Run, Jin' will feature a match against actor Park Hyung-sik. 'Run, Jin' is released every Tuesday at 9 p.m. on the BTS YouTube channel and can be viewed on the global superfan platform Weverse one hour later.
