The winds of change are blowing in the New Recruit unit.

The Genie TV original drama 'New Recruit 3' (directed by Min Jin-ki and Jo Je-uk, written by Yun Gi-young and Kang Go-eun, based on the original work by Jang Pi-jju, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by A2G Entertainment and Story Island) has released stills capturing an unusual day in the New Recruit unit.

Returning with high expectations, 'New Recruit 3' depicts a New Recruit unit in crisis due to the unpredictable transfers of two new recruits and the return of an unprecedented villain, showcasing Park Min-seok's (played by Kim Min-ho) significantly challenging military life as he approaches his promotion to corporal. 'New Recruits' Kim Min-ho, Nam Tae-woo, Lee Sang-jin, Jo Jin-se, Lee Chung-goo, Kim Hyun-kyu, Lee Jung-hyun, Jeon Seung-hoon, and Lee Soo-ji will once again excel with the evolved cheat codes of army life. Most importantly, the meeting of director Min Jin-ki, who broke down the barriers between drama and entertainment with the 'K-military content' genre, and the comedy master writer Yun Gi-young stimulates the anticipation of drama fans.

Amidst this, the released photos capture the still unusual sun-drying scene of the New Recruit unit. While everyone is busy shaking out their blankets, Park Min-seok raises his thumb in mock cuteness. There seems to be a faint hint of a private's 'vibe' about him. In another corner, squad leader Oh Seok-jin (played by Lee Sang-jin) showcases his ever-present 'seriousness' while demonstrating how to shake out a blanket. However, the clumsy Oh Seok-jin finds himself wrapped in the robust embrace of Im Da-hye (played by Jeon Seung-hoon) at some point. The faces of Choi Il-goo (played by Nam Tae-woo) and Kim Sang-hoon (played by Lee Chung-goo), who are watching this intriguing bromance, are filled with an inexplicable smile. The question of what will happen in this unnecessary love line is curious.

The changed daily lives of the 'New Recruits' displayed in the subsequent photos also pique curiosity. First catching the eye is Choi Il-goo, who has risen to the status of housekeeper before his discharge. His gentle smile, holding a flower pot, appears surprisingly unfamiliar. Park Min-joo (played by Lee Soo-ji), who exudes enduring charisma, also draws attention. Park Min-joo is expected to arrive with a presence that surpasses that of the special instructor from 'New Recruit 2.'

'New Faces' also reveal their remarkable presence. Kim Dong-jun, whose art style differs from others, captivates his fellow soldiers with his flowery smile. In stark contrast, the contrasting aura of Moon Bit-nari (played by Kim Yo-han), emitting a scent of unworthiness, is exceedingly intriguing. Meanwhile, Company Commander Jo Baek-ho (played by Oh Dae-hwan) is spotted with a honey-dripping gaze as he receives the salute of soldiers. Amidst this, a familiar face captures attention—Seong Yoon-mo (played by Kim Hyun-kyu), the villain from season 1. His tearful repentance, hands clasped tightly together, leaves viewers bewildered. Having teased his return in a previously released teaser video, curiosity intensifies about what events will unfold in the ever-chaotic New Recruit unit.

Kim Min-ho returns as 'Park Min-seok,' whose ranks were retained as a private. He is expected to suffer from the escalated difficulty of military life as he welcomes 'Kook Min-soo,' the new recruit who brings back memories of his own unworthy days. Nam Tae-woo plays 'Choi Il-goo,' who still faces turbulent times even as he becomes a long-serving private, while Lee Sang-jin portrays the clumsily warm squad leader 'Oh Seok-jin,' grounding the realism. Lee Chung-goo returns to shine once more as the ace of the 1st squad, 'Kim Sang-hoon.' Kim Hyun-kyu, who portrayed the villain 'Seong Yoon-mo' in season 1, and Jeon Seung-hoon, who returns as the poker face private 'Im Da-hye,' bring welcome familiarity. Additionally, Lee Soo-ji takes a starring role as 'Park Min-joo,' the powerful instructor with remarkable mental and physical strength, who is Park Min-seok's older sister.

The performances of Kim Dong-jun, Oh Dae-hwan, and Kim Yo-han are also highly anticipated. Kim Dong-jun plays the globally recognized star 'Jeon Se-gye,' a signal to his prominence not only in appearance but in character and sense as well. Oh Dae-hwan delivers a heartfelt performance as the loving but surprising Company Commander 'Jo Baek-ho,' newly assigned to the 2nd company. Kim Yo-han transforms into 'Moon Bit-nari,' an unusually inept new recruit reminding everyone of Park Min-seok's early days, displaying unique acting.

'New Recruit 3' production staff noted, 'As time passes, the relationships and personalities of the characters will gradually change. However, the one consistent factor is the distinctiveness of the characters. With no one ordinary among the 'New Recruits,' the daily lives they create will undoubtedly provide both empathy and laughter,' and requested viewers to anticipate 'the season 3 that will become more dynamic with the reappearance of two very different new recruits and an unprecedented villain.'

Meanwhile, the Genie TV original drama 'New Recruit 3' will first air on April 7 (Monday) at 10 p.m. on ENA and will be exclusively available for free VOD on KT Genie TV right after the regular broadcast every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. It can also be watched on the OTT platform Tving.
