The film 'Paran' features actors Lee Soo-hyuk and Ha Yoon-kyung in a storyline capture.
On the 25th, the team behind the film 'Paran' (director Kang Dong-in, provided/produced by Tui J Studio, distributed by Merry Christmas 300 Company) released the main poster featuring the two individuals, whose relationship as the perpetrator's son and the victim's daughter is one that could never intertwine.
'Paran' is an emotional mystery film that depicts the unexpected journey of the son of a perpetrator and the daughter of a victim, who, burdened by their family's sins, wanted to live sincerely after being unable to die.
In the released main poster of 'Paran,' Lee Soo-hyuk, who plays the national representative shooting athlete Tae-hwa, captures attention as he appears lost in deep thought with a solemn expression. Behind him, actress Ha Yoon-kyung, playing the role of Mi-ji, who has been living anxiously alone after separating from her family following the incident, is shown with a determined expression, aiming at something.
The phrases 'The son of the perpetrator, the daughter of the victim' and 'Aiming the gun at a twisted fate!' evoke expectations of heart-wrenching suspense and emotional resonance due to the irreversible past created by the relationship of the son of the hit-and-run perpetrator and the daughter of the victim. The phrase 'I want to live after meeting you' feels like something the two characters are saying to each other, having unexpectedly begun their journey while living a life unable to die, hinting at a warm emotion that emerges even amidst the cold atmosphere.
'Paran' delicately portrays the inner struggles of individuals who have lived carrying the pain of their families, as they seek the reason to survive amidst tragic pasts and unavoidable realities. It has been invited to the Korean Cinema institutional sector at the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival, drawing the largest live audiences at the festival. The director, who won the Jury Special Prize at the 21st Beijing Film Academy Festival for 'Good Time' and the gold medal in the group category at the 20th Korean Youth Film Festival, directed and wrote the screenplay.
The title 'Paran' encompasses the meanings of the turbulent event that shakes the lives of the two characters (波瀾) and the hope of creating a new beginning by overcoming that adversity (破卵).
The film 'Paran,' capturing the heaviness of guilt and the coldness of the gun's barrel, which gives rise to the warmth of life, is set to be released on April 9.
