'Catch the big luck' features Yeon Je-hyung, Lee So-won, Kim Hyun-ji, and Park Ji-sang in a compelling relationship.
The new daily drama 'Catch the big luck' on KBS1, which will premiere on April 7 at 8:30 p.m., portrays the tumultuous growth of three friends with varying financial situations and their families.
Yeon Je-hyung and Kim Hyun-ji will play Kim Seok-jin and Kim A-jin, the second son and youngest daughter of Sun Woo-jae-deok (played by Kim Dae-sik) and Oh Young-sil (played by Lee Hye-sook). Despite his family's difficult circumstances, Seok-jin follows an elite path due to his parents' dedication and love. After completing his studies at a prestigious university in the United States, he struggles for his family's happiness. The youngest A-jin, who resembles her thrifty parents Dae-sik and Hye-sook, is known for her cooking skills and is called a 'modern-day Jang-geum.'
Park Ji-sang and Lee So-won will play Han Tae-ha, the eldest son of Son Chang-min (played by Han Mu-cheol) and Lee Ah-hyun (played by Lee Mi-ja), and Han Seo-woo, the second daughter. Tae-ha, a 'high-spec unemployed,' begins investing in stocks with the ambition to surpass his father and become a wealthy tycoon but faces a life-altering crisis after losing his fortune. Seo-woo, who feels compelled to speak her mind, attracts attention for her outstanding looks but has never experienced a proper relationship, making her an 'awkward lover.'
The still released on the 25th captures the first meeting that signifies the start of the connection between Mu-cheol and Dae-sik's children. Seok-jin, who has returned home after studying abroad, has an awkward first encounter with Seo-woo at the airport.
Seo-woo, who came to greet Tae-hyung, who is in unrequited love, unknowingly bumps into Seok-jin and makes a sad face. Misunderstandings accumulate from their first encounter as Seok-jin and Seo-woo reunite as the children of a landlord and a tenant. Moreover, Seok-jin, who is close friends with Tae-hyung, learns a shocking secret about the two, placing him at a crossroads in his choices. Curiosity heightens about what events have transpired between the two and how their relationship will unfold.
Meanwhile, A-jin, who is working part-time at a restaurant run by her close senior Jin-tae, catches the eye with her presence as the unemployed customer Tae-ha frequently visits. A-jin, who doesn’t waste anything, is a frugal MZ generation individual who doesn’t miss opportunities, from coin collecting to department store sample events. In contrast, Tae-ha finds the life of an office worker, who is stuck at work from morning to evening, to be inefficient. Obsessed with making a fortune through stock investment, Tae-ha only aggravates A-jin, who carefully saves even a single coin.
The still captures A-jin, excited after getting a bunch of cosmetic samples, meeting Tae-ha at the bus stop. A-jin, furious at Tae-ha for cutting in line while she was distracted, adds interest to the scene as Tae-ha nonchalantly boards the bus, trying to provoke her. After their chaotic meeting, A-jin is drawn into a debt relationship with Tae-ha due to a critical mistake, stirring curiosity.
'Catch the big luck' is expected to reach its peak immersion with its complex relationships and the seamless chemistry among characters, not just between Mu-cheol and Dae-sik, who have turned from childhood friends into adversaries, but also with their children.
Meanwhile, the new daily drama 'Catch the big luck,' directed by Park Man-young, who is recognized for his creative direction, and written by Son Ji-hye, known for her strong writing abilities, will premiere on April 7 at 8:30 p.m. on KBS1, following 'Let's get married, Maeng-gong!'
