The Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee (abbreviated as 'BCRC') refuted comments made by Seo Hye-jin, CEO of Crea Studio.
The BCRC corrected comments made by Seo Hye-jin during an urgent production briefing for the new MBN variety program 'Under 15' on the afternoon of the 25th through an official press release.
On that day, Seo Hye-jin said, contrary to MBN's claim of a 'comprehensive review,' "Please check the video directly and evaluate it," revealing a teaser, and when asked about the production company's intentions to proceed with the broadcast, she noted, "MBN and we do not have different opinions. We discussed it, and since MBN is also a platform, they expressed a sense of responsibility and their intention to review it."
He emphasized that, "We actually sent the complete version to all members of the review team and planning team two weeks ago for the first episode. They reviewed it internally and found no issues, so we put this edited version on YouTube in an effort to dispel the controversy."
However, the BCRC said, "The Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee conducts 'post-review' in accordance with Article 21 of the 'Broadcasting and Communications Commission Act' and Article 32 of the 'Broadcasting Act,' judging whether there is a violation of review regulations based on previously aired programs."
It added, "Furthermore, we correct the statement that we had received the complete program prior to broadcasting and that we communicated our opinions on any violations of review regulations, as that claim is not true."
At the same time, the BCRC emphasized, "We have conveyed a strong protest to the Crea Studio side for making statements contrary to the facts in public settings."
Meanwhile, MBN's 'Under 15' is an audition program aimed at discovering K-POP prodigies under the age of 15, featuring 59 girls from over 70 countries who are under 15 years of age, nurturing and producing a girl group equipped with talent.
The program was scheduled to premiere on the 31st; however, concerns arose after the teaser and preview were released, questioning whether it sexualizes minors. Ultimately, the production company held an urgent production briefing on the 25th to clarify their position.
