Former baseball player and broadcaster, Gang Byeong-kyu, expressed his injustice regarding a past assault case.

On the 24th, a video titled "[Nononon] Shin Jeong-hwan Gang Byeong-kyu's first confession: Is gambling my path? ep.5" was uploaded on 'Channel Gojeonghae.'

On that day, Shin Jeong-hwan mentioned the situation when Gang Byeong-kyu appeared before the police on charges of assault, saying, "Since Byeong-kyu-hyung is holding an A4 paper, doesn’t it look like a scene we’ve seen a lot before?" He teased, "Hyung, why did you bring that? Was it to get Lee Byung-hun's autograph?" and the production team wondered, "Did you have a confrontation?"

In response, Gang Byeong-kyu claimed, "There was no confrontation. Those who are capable and powerful do not face the other party. Such people usually don't even get a call from the police. They casually call a lawyer and conduct a slight investigation. I requested a confrontation like that. What is the reason this person is suing me? They’ve never seen me. So I asked them to call me. When there’s a trial, they show up. They came to the trial, and suddenly the judge said, 'Thank you for coming to court during your busy time.'"

He said, "I’m in a situation where I could end up getting Xed from receiving a trial at the defendant's seat, and the other party showed up, while there’s a witness stand 3 meters away. They swear in. You saw it. They never look me in the eye. The courtroom is not as grand and spacious as a drama or movie. It’s small. I was watching. I looked until the end. I wanted to ask just once, 'Why are you attacking me and why do you think that?' I've never had a conversation with them."

Lim Deok-young said, "Didn't you say you assaulted?" and Gang Byeong-kyu replied, "If I were to assault Lee Byung-hun, I would need to meet him, but I’ve never met him!" expressing his frustration. When asked, "Haven't you ever encountered him?" he emphasized, "Of course not."

Shin Jeong-hwan asked, "Didn't your hyung visit the filming location?" and Gang Byeong-kyu explained, "I only went there because K asked me to come. I didn’t even see Lee Byung-hun’s teeth. I wasn’t called there because they were going to treat me to something delicious. The producer of 'Iris,' J, had been trash talking me to reporters, so when I called and asked about it, I was told that wasn’t the intent and they wanted to apologize, so I went there to clear up the misunderstanding."

He stated, "I’m in an agitated state, so I said, 'Please speak up,' and then they replied that they thought there was a misunderstanding, but I never said I would apologize. I was unaware of this situation, and since I never said such a thing, my character led me to curse. I called them 'crazy XX.' Then suddenly, some guys started attacking me. They pushed me around. There were two or three of them at the start. When I was getting hit from behind, I couldn’t endure it. So while I was in a fainted state, I was attacked by several people. After that, I thought I have to catch at least one, so I held on until the end, but I ultimately missed them all and they ran away."

Additionally, Gang Byeong-kyu lamented, "I reported it to the police, but K told me to cancel it. They came to the scene. But K said to cancel. During that time, I had called because even though I hadn’t fought back, I was the one getting hit, and they all just ran away."

He concluded, "I have many more things to say, but just at this point," and Shin Jeong-hwan pressed, "What happened before that? Why did you go to receive an apology?" Then Gang Byeong-kyu replied, "I will tell you this story in the 11th episode," and Shin Jeong-hwan added, "Will you try to do that until then? I heard there’s talk of a change in members."

Meanwhile, Gang Byeong-kyu was indicted in 2009 for allegedly threatening Lee Byung-hun with the intention of exposing his relationship with his ex-girlfriend and demanding money, along with allegations of committing violence on the set of 'Iris.' In 2011, he faced additional charges for fraud involving luxury watches. The court sentenced him to 1 year and 6 months for the fraud charges and imprisoned him, while imposing 1 year in prison with a 3-year probation for the other charges. After that, Gang Byeong-kyu appealed, but the court reduced the sentence for the fraud charge to 1 year but rejected all other appeals.

At that time, Gang Byeong-kyu also filed a lawsuit against Lee Byung-hun for false accusations, but he was found not guilty. Subsequently, Lee Byung-hun's agency stated, "Three years ago, when this long struggle began, we promised to reveal the truth, and finally, the truth has been revealed. Now we will shake off this long painful period and, as we have until now, diligently focus on our main duties." However, afterward, Gang Byeong-kyu continued to post defamatory comments about Lee Byung-hun on social media and was fined 7 million won for defamation.
