Min Hee-jin, the former head of ADOR, is expected to face fines from the Labor Office regarding workplace bullying.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 25th, the Seoul Western District Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor recently notified Min Hee-jin that it would impose fines.
The Labor Office determined that her remarks constituted workplace bullying and acknowledged that Min Hee-jin did not conduct an objective investigation in relation to workplace bullying involving Deputy Head B.
However, regarding the sexual harassment issue raised by A against B, it was concluded that there was no violation of the Gender Equality Employment Act, and the case was administratively closed.
Former ADOR employee A also reported on the 24th via social media that Min Hee-jin's workplace bullying (such as verbal abuse) was acknowledged and resulted in fines.
A said, "The acknowledged proportion of workplace bullying is only 12%, and the fines are a high level of sanction that goes beyond simple warning measures. I clearly offered four opportunities for an apology to end all this, but they did not accept it and instead chose to sue me. I will actively respond to the remaining civil and criminal matters."
On the other hand, Min Hee-jin's side noted through Monthly Chosun that "the facts regarding the remarks judged to be workplace bullying were misrecognized, and it has been confirmed that there was a misunderstanding regarding the legal principles of the Labor Standards Act related to workplace bullying and the obligation of objective investigation." They added, "We plan to proceed with formal objection procedures step by step, including promptly submitting opinions to the administrative agency. We intend to clarify the exact truth of the complaint case and lift the unfair accusation."
Previously, former ADOR employee A revealed in August of last year that she had been subjected to workplace bullying by former head Min Hee-jin. Additionally, employee A reported executive B for sexual harassment and workplace bullying, raising suspicions that Min Hee-jin coached B's response strategy to escape allegations.
In response to the suspicions, Min Hee-jin refuted them by releasing mobile messenger conversations with A and a statement comprising 18 pages. However, A stated that she had requested a sincere apology and correction of facts from Min Hee-jin but received no reply. Subsequently, A filed a complaint against Min Hee-jin with the Seoul Mapo Police Station on charges of defamation and violation of the Personal Information Protection Act.
