Lee Dong-hwi from "Lobby" expressed concern for his colleague and director Ha Jung-woo, who is set for surgery.
On the afternoon of 25th, a press screening of the movie "Lobby" was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul. Attendees included main actors Kim Ui-sung, Kang Hae-rim, Lee Dong-hwi, Park Byeong-eun, Choi Si-won, Cha Joo-young, Kwak Sun-young, and Kang Mal-geum. Actor-director Ha Jung-woo is absent due to scheduled surgery for acute appendicitis.
"Lobby" (directed by Ha Jung-woo, produced by Workhouse Company and Film Momentum, provided by Michigan Venture Capital Co. and WYSIWYG STUDIOS Co., distributed by SHOWBOX) tells the story of a startup representative, Chang-wook (played by Ha Jung-woo), who knows only research and starts his first lobbying golf game to win a 4 trillion won national project. After making his directorial debut in 2013 with "Roller Coaster," Ha Jung-woo released his third directorial project in ten years following "The Chronicles of Hong Gil-dong" (2015).
In the film, Ha Jung-woo plays Chang-wook, the startup representative who only knows research and aims to succeed based on technology, while Park Byeong-eun plays the rival company representative, Kwang-woo, who wins business through lobbying. Kim Ui-sung portrays veteran public servant and political power player Choi, Kang Hae-rim plays professional golfer Jin, Lee Dong-hwi is the journalist Park who facilitates lobbying, Choi Si-won plays the charismatic national actor Ma Tae-soo, Cha Joo-young is the golf course lady named Dami, Kwak Sun-young plays the director Kim who supports Chang-wook, and Kang Mal-geum portrays the ambitious but corrupt Minister who has no interest in practical matters.
Kim Ui-sung noted, "I heard the news about director Ha Jung-woo this morning; he unfortunately fell ill and couldn't attend the screening. He asked me to convey his apologies. He said to let us know that he feels sorry for missing this." He also mentioned, "It's not serious, so he asked us to maintain a cheerful atmosphere during the press conference. I found this film more enjoyable than the first time I saw it. I hope you enjoy it as well."
Park Byeong-eun also shared, "Director Ha Jung-woo really wanted to be here. We texted earlier, and he seemed very regretful. He wanted to come and spoke to the teacher in charge, but the teacher advised that it might be risky, so he couldn't make it," expressing his concerns for Ha Jung-woo.
Meanwhile, "Lobby" is set to be released on April 2.
