Lee Tae-sung has become an important consolidation in the domestic and international art world by holding a solo exhibition in China as the first writer who is a Korean actor.
Actor Lee Tae-sung, who has established himself as an art entertainer by holding several solo exhibitions, is showing a meaningful move as a contemporary artist by consecutively hosting the solo exhibitions ‘Moonlight Weaving Dreams’ and ‘Azure Breath’ in Shenzhen, China.
Starting with ‘Moonlight Weaving Dreams’ held from Feb. 15 (Saturday) at Zhimei Space in Shenzhen and followed by ‘Azure Breath’ at Judy’s Moma Museum in Shenzhen, which opened on Feb. 28 (Friday), Lee Tae-sung met with audiences through two solo exhibitions. He has been recognized for both artistry and commerciality in the Chinese art market, greatly impacting cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries.
In particular, as Shenzhen is a city where the contemporary art market is rapidly growing within China, this exhibition by Lee Tae-sung shows signs of becoming a catalyst for China-South Korea cultural and artistic cooperation.
Chloe Kim, CEO of Lee Tae-sung's art agency Mareki Art, noted, “Currently, exhibitions of Lee Tae-sung are scheduled in Guizhou, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and we are communicating with art museums and institutions around the world beyond the Chinese-speaking market, while also collaborating with various brands.” She further stated, “We will strategically support in promoting Korean contemporary art to various cultural spheres as Lee Tae-sung's works gain recognition beyond the Asian market,” revealing future plans.
Lee Tae-sung, who has consistently produced over 3,000 pieces and more than 100 works a year, said, “I am continually trying to find materials that others have not used or come into contact with and experiment to create my own color,” adding, “I plan to continue evolving and changing the form of my work with the anticipation of how my next pieces will emerge.”
With such consistent work, actor Lee Tae-sung has established himself as a remarkable artist in the Korean contemporary art scene. He successfully concluded a fan meeting in Japan earlier and is set to engage fans in various ways through both acting and exhibitions.
