Lee Soo-geun deeply empathized with the story of a participant with a sick family.
On the broadcast of KBS Joy's 'Anything Goes' on the 24th, a daughter whose mother was diagnosed with delusional disorder appeared as a participant.
The participant said her mother is usually quiet and reserved, but sometimes shows a completely different side, which worries her. In response, the participant stated that she visited the hospital. The participant explained, "They judged it as a delusional disorder. They said it's an incurable disease. She needs to take medication consistently. They said the symptoms can appear at any time. There are times when she insists not to take the medication, and that’s when the symptoms show up."
The participant said, "I can't remember my actions when I suddenly change," and Seo Jang-hoon asked whether she had ever taken brain scans. Seo Jang-hoon cautiously mentioned, "I'm not a medical expert, but isn't it possible that this is early dementia? Suddenly doubting and being obsessive..."
Seo Jang-hoon said, "There are five adults in the house. If taking medication doesn’t improve anything, isn’t that an indication of another problem?" and the participant responded that she was also suffering, saying, "I developed panic disorder because of my mom."
Listening quietly, Lee Soo-geun advised, "The family needs to gather and find another way. It seems like it would upset your mom too much if she feels strange. Your mom needs to be healthy for you to be healthy too. Trying to solve something that could be handled with a disposable fire extinguisher by calling a fire truck. If you prepare in advance, you can solve it quickly. Your mom should also think that she has devoted herself to the family. Who would want to get sick? I hope you don't think that your mom was the start of the family's unhappiness."
Meanwhile, Lee Soo-geun married Park Ji-yeon in 2008 and has two sons. Park Ji-yeon reportedly had kidney issues due to pregnancy-induced hypertension during her second pregnancy. In 2011, she received a kidney transplant from her father and was advised to undergo another kidney transplant in 2021.
