In 'Chosun's Lover,' singer Won-hyuk, who is the son-in-law of Lee Yong-sik, shared his realistic concerns.
Won-hyuk shared his concerns on the TV Chosun entertainment program 'Chosun's Lover' that aired on the 24th.
On that day, Won-hyuk stated, "It's a personal concern," adding, "As Pal-bok is about to be born, there is a sense of responsibility and burden as a father," and he noted, "Parenting is reality; everything is money." He conveyed his worries as a father, saying, "I've never been curious about material things until now, but these days, I've started to see things related to parenting, such as how to handle finances for child care."
Lee Yong-sik responded, saying, "The day when you start thinking like this has finally come," and he noted, "There is a limit to how much I can care for you, like when a grant request comes in or when I go out with you on broadcasts. When they contacted me about casting our son-in-law, there is also a limit to how much I can help." He remarked, "Back in your day, comedians used to earn money at night venues. I've done six gigs in one night," sharing that he used to work all night and then go out again after just four hours of sleep. Lee Yong-sik added, "This is how you raise So-min and live in your own house."
Lee Yong-sik advised, "You haven't been under a management agency for 50 years; it's okay to stand alone now. It's time for you to carve your own path; you need to make the calls and ask about bookings. There are many singing classes nationwide with members who like trot, which is your specialty," he said. He emphasized, "A singer must be on stage, face challenges continuously; if you don't put in this effort, you will be eliminated," encouraging him to have the courage to take risks instead of just worrying.
Lee Yong-sik remarked, "If you have worries, you'll have progress. You need to solve these issues, receive comfort from your family, and live through this process," as they shared their true feelings for the first time and took a step closer to one another.
