Artist Grizzly has been revealed as 'Chubby Cat,' who surprised 'King of Masked Singers.'

Grizzly appeared on the MBC entertainment program 'King of Masked Singers' on the 23rd as 'Meow~ I'll show you a lethal charm as deadly as my belly fat! Chubby Cat' (hereafter Chubby Cat).

In the first round, Grizzly defeated 'Muscle Dog,' revealed to be former soccer player Jo Won-hee, to advance to the second round, where they showcased a performance of WOODZ's 'Drowning.' Grizzly captivated attention with a unique voice and explosive vocal ability, dominating the stage.

Koh Young Technology said of Grizzly's performance, "In the first round, you showed a distinctive tone and hip-hop gestures, but this time it was rock style. I think you might be a strong rock vocalist." Lee Yoon-seok noted, "You have a strong rocker vibe. The gesture of tilting your shoulder is also seen with rappers, but when you sing while holding a guitar, it tends to slide off, so you keep gesturing. I think you might be a band vocalist who can play the guitar."

Singer Kwon Eun-bi supported Grizzly, stating, "I frequently attend this person's concerts and even participate in challenges with them. Especially, this person's music has been selected as tunes that many young women in their teens and 20s listen to, making them a 'boyfriend' for auditory senses. Additionally, they hold a special record in the Korean music scene, having an undefeated record at No. 1."

As Grizzly revealed their identity by removing the mask, they surprised everyone with the fact that they were selected as the most streamed Korean artist on the world's largest music streaming platform and that they hold the record for the longest song title in Korea ('Even if we fight, please remember this: while looking into each other's eyes, holding hands, and making an effort not to hurt each other with a low voice and pretty tone').

Grizzly noted that many people recognize them as a rapper, saying, "Among rappers, there are those who perform strong rapping, and I have collaborated with them, so many know me as a rapper." Grizzly also said, "What I remember most is teacher Jang Pil-soon. I once attended a concert in Jeju Island and after seeing that stage, I thought I definitely wanted to collaborate with that person before I die. After looking for a way to contact them, they asked to hear the song. While traveling alone in Europe, I thought of the teacher a lot in Hallstatt, so I wrote a song there and sent it to them, and they readily agreed to collaborate, and we worked together."

In particular, Grizzly said, "The artist I most want to collaborate with is Su-hyun from AKMU. I think they're a singer who expresses songs well in our country, and I've been shouting for it for 10 years. I definitely want to present them with a song." As for their future goals, they said, "I haven't been able to participate in many broadcasts, so my goal this year is to be more active."

After appearing on 'King of Masked Singers,' Grizzly expressed through their agency, "It was an honor to be able to appear on a program I enjoy as a viewer. Due to nervousness, I couldn't showcase all my skills, but it was a very valuable experience," and expressed gratitude to the producers and participants who had supported them, adding, "If I get the chance someday, I would like to try to reach the third round."

Meanwhile, Grizzly recorded fourth place on the Korean Apple Music R&B chart with the single 'Beige coat,' released in January 2022, made it into the Spotify TOP 200, and reached 27th in the Viral 50, receiving significant public love. Last year, they released consecutive tracks with different songwriting styles such as 'Pretty Lady,' 'Gorgeous,' 'I gotta go,' and 'FTS,' attempting a transformation into a new image.
