Actor Lee Dong-wook explained his character in 'Divorce Insurance.'
On the 24th, the production presentation for the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Divorce Insurance' (written by Lee Tae-yoon, directed by Lee Won-seok and Choi Bo-kyung) was held online.
'Divorce Insurance' is a pure protection-style office romantic comedy that presents a divorce insurance product to cope with the hottest disaster of our time, divorce, developed by a team of top brains at an insurance company's innovative product development team. Director Lee Won-seok, known for films like 'Killing Romance,' and writer Lee Tae-yoon, known for works such as 'Tale of Nokdu,' 'Her Private Life,' and 'What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,' have teamed up for this.
Lee Dong-wook plays No Gi-jun, an actuary at Plus Insurance's innovative product development team, who appears to be the perfect man with both qualifications and expertise, but has experienced three divorces. Though his three marriages and three divorces have drained his wallet and soul, he confidently declares his divorce history despite societal prejudices, reflecting a principled character. In an era where the divorce rate is skyrocketing, he decides to develop a divorce insurance product based on the idea that divorce itself is an unexpected disaster in life.
Lee Dong-wook said about the character No Gi-jun, "There have been many comments about whether it's burdensome to play a character with a lot of divorce experience, but it wasn't. As you'll see later, No Gi-jun's divorces weren't anyone's fault. The character ended up divorcing because they recognized their differing tendencies. I thought it would be good to embody that personality well."
Meanwhile, the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Divorce Insurance' will premiere on the 31st at 8:50 p.m. and will meet viewers worldwide through the global streaming service Amazon Prime Video.
