Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon offer comfort to someone who has experienced two divorces from the same person.
The 309th episode of 'Ask Anything' airing tonight at 8:30 p.m. features a story of a person who divorced a husband who demanded domestic violence, abuse, emotional outbursts, and forced marital relations, but has not received child support for three years.
To the person raising three daughters, aged 12, 8, and 5, alone, the two hosts ask cautiously how she met her ex-husband, to which she replies, 'I was introduced by a pen pal.' She adds that after exchanging messages following her ex-husband's active pursuit, 'My younger sibling was in a long-term relationship, so my family pushed for me to get married first, and we got married after knowing each other for only three months.'
Hearing this, Seo Jang-hoon asks, 'Why did you marry someone you didn’t even know after just three months?' and then inquires, 'There must have been some good points?' to which she responds, 'It seems I ended up getting married out of the fantasy of wanting an older brother.'
The husband changed as soon as they married, starting to drink every day for 365 days, and vented the stress he received from work by forcibly having marital relations, which led to having a child.
When asked, 'Why did you stay silent?' she reveals, 'I was afraid of retaliation, so I couldn't tell anyone,' and shares that her parents were also separated at the time, leaving her without a safe place to lean on.
Ultimately, she filed for divorce in 2016. While frequently visiting under the pretext of visitation rights, she ended up having a second child and states that they reconciled for legal processes related to the child's medical care.
She trusted her ex-husband and reconciled, but nothing had changed, ultimately deciding to divorce again.
The ex-husband disappeared without paying child support, and due to worsening financial hardship, the person revealed that she had to live on the streets with her children, leading Lee Soo-geun to comment, 'Isn't this something that should be reported in the news?' as he sighs with Seo Jang-hoon.
The story of the person who has not received child support for three years can be seen tonight at 8:30 p.m. on KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything,' episode 309.
