HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE member Lala has revealed her sexual identity.

On the 24th, Lala shared through the fan communication platform Weverse that she realized she was "half fruitcake" since she was 8 years old and identified as gay.

She expressed gratitude for the love and support of her fans, noting that during the survival audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' she was really scared since "people might not accept me, and I could ruin my chance."

Later, Lala shared in a live session, "Coming out can be scary. There’s also an additional barrier because I am a person of color, so I was a bit scared as well."

Nevertheless, she said, "I am so grateful that the people around me and my fans support me, and I am proud of myself," adding, "My sexual identity is a part of me. I am not ashamed of this fact at all, and it feels really good."

Meanwhile, KATSEYE is a global girl group co-produced by HYBE and Geffen Records, composed of members selected through the audition program 'The Debut: Dream Academy.' They debuted in the music industry last June with their first EP 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' and have been active by appearing on domestic music broadcasts.
