Unexpected variables have emerged in the romance between Lee Sun-bin and Kang Tae-oh in 'The Potato Lab.'
In the 8th episode of tvN's weekend drama 'The Potato Lab' (directed by Kang Il-soo and Shim Jae-hyun, written by Kim Ho-soo, planned by CJ ENM Studios, produced by Chorokbaem Media), a crisis confronted Kim Mi-kyung (played by Lee Sun-bin) and So Baek-ho (played by Kang Tae-oh). Kim Mi-kyung discovers the relationship between So Baek-ho and Park Ki-se (played by Lee Hak-joo). And when Kim Mi-kyung realizes that the protagonist who ruined her love six years ago is Yoon Hee-jin (played by Jeong Sin-hye), the tense face-off ending involving So Baek-ho, Park Ki-se, Yoon Hee-jin, and Kim Mi-kyung heightened the sense of crisis.
On this day, a crisis confronted Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho's sweet romance. It started with Park Ki-se's appearance. Lee Yong-joo (played by Kim Ga-eun) discovered Park Ki-se, who had deeply hurt Kim Mi-kyung, and was enraged. During a disturbance in front of the guest house, Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho, who were enjoying their date, came out. Kim Mi-kyung felt complicated emotions about So Baek-ho and Park Ki-se's close relationship.
Kim Mi-kyung's confusion was not over. She couldn’t believe that her friend, whom she thought of as family, was dating her biological brother and, filled with betrayal, decided to run away. Unable to leave Kim Mi-kyung alone at the lab, So Baek-ho offered to run away with her and took her to a hotel. However, So Baek-ho was unexpectedly different this time as well. He told Kim Mi-kyung, who was trying to suppress her trembling heart, that he would go home. He anticipated that Kim Mi-kyung would not obediently follow him if he suggested booking a hotel instead of the uncomfortable on-call office. Kim Mi-kyung was once again emotional at So Baek-ho's kind gesture. When So Baek-ho replied that he wouldn’t let her get angry when she said not to deceive her again, it ignited a flame in Kim Mi-kyung's heart. So Baek-ho, gripping his heart as he left the hotel room, also raised expectations for a deeper romance.
However, the relationship between Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho began to be overshadowed by an unexpected encounter. Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho, who went to work together at the headquarters, ran into Park Ki-se and Yoon Hee-jin. At that moment, Kim Mi-kyung recalled the name Yoon Hee-jin written on the invitation card Park Ki-se had handed her six years ago. The tense face-off ending between Kim Mi-kyung, So Baek-ho, Park Ki-se, and Yoon Hee-jin hinted at unpredictable developments. Now, what changes in sentiment will Kim Mi-kyung experience when facing Yoon Hee-jin, who put an end to their six-year romance? It's intriguing to see how the intricately tangled relationships will act as variables in the romance.
Meanwhile, Park Ki-se made a significant remark to Lee Yong-joo. He noted that Lee Yong-joo also bore some responsibility for the breakup between Kim Mi-kyung and Park Ki-se. When Kim Hwan-gyeong (played by Shin Hyeon-seung) asked what he meant, Lee Yong-joo, who had always been on Kim Mi-kyung's side, changed the subject, raising curiosity about what happened to Kim Mi-kyung six years ago.
The 9th episode of tvN's weekend drama 'The Potato Lab' will air on the 29th (Saturday) at 9:20 p.m.
