The Potato Lab's Lee Sun-bin and Kang Tae-oh's sweet romance has begun.
In the 7th episode of the tvN weekend drama 'The Potato Lab' (directed by Kang Il-soo and Shim Jae-hyun, written by Kim Ho-soo, planned by CJ ENM Studios, produced by Chorokbaem Media), Kim Mi-kyung (played by Lee Sun-bin) and So Baek-ho (played by Kang Tae-oh) confirmed their feelings for each other. Kim Mi-kyung enjoyed happiness, even giving the world’s most gentle So Baek-ho the nickname 'Soft Peach'. Kim Mi-kyung's romantic ending, with So Baek-ho's surprise forehead kiss, raised expectations for a deeper romance.
That day, So Baek-ho confessed his feelings to Kim Mi-kyung. As his gaze became colder, the world became clearer for So Baek-ho, making it important for him to maintain principles and composure. However, So Baek-ho's words about losing his composure and missing out on what he needed to do after developing feelings for Kim Mi-kyung flustered her. Kim Mi-kyung also could not shake off her feelings for So Baek-ho. In a joke about wanting to bring him close and torment him rather than resent the decision to fire him, her affection for So Baek-ho was evident.
So Baek-ho pursued Kim Mi-kyung without hesitation. After chasing Kim Mi-kyung all day, So Baek-ho finally had a date with her after work hours. Their conversation inevitably led to potatoes. Kim Mi-kyung expressed her frustration by saying she didn't understand what made the new American variety superior to 'Maru', and So Baek-ho kindly matched her feelings. Kim Mi-kyung teased So Baek-ho by calling him 'Soft Peach' at his changed demeanor. The unexpected words from So Baek-ho thereafter made Kim Mi-kyung's heart flutter. He confessed once again that he had decided to use 'Maru' for potato chip production, but he was unsure whether it was a decision based on reason or due to his feelings for someone special.
The relationship between Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho quickly became the talk of the town. Kim Mi-kyung clarified that she was not the source of a not safe for work letter from the previous night. This was overheard by the fast-talking and action-oriented Jeon Ban-jang (played by Hwang Jung-min). So Baek-ho confessed that they were serious about their relationship and asked to keep it a secret, but rumors that they were a couple intending to marry spread uncontrollably within The Potato Lab.
Reactions to Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho's romance were polarized. While the Potato Family supported the romance, the guest house members, Lee Ong-joo (played by Kim Ga-eun) and Kim Hwan-gyeong (played by Shin Hyun-seung), were displeased. Knowing that Kim Mi-kyung would give everything when in love and would be easily led, Lee Ong-joo was more worried. However, Kim Mi-kyung assured Lee Ong-joo that she trusts So Baek-ho's honest feelings. Kim Hwan-gyeong, worried that gentle older sister Kim Mi-kyung might get hurt, relaxed at So Baek-ho's heartfelt affection for her without any countermeasures. Meanwhile, So Baek-ho's forehead kiss ending to soothe Kim Mi-kyung's frustration about the rent announcement heightened the excitement for their deepening romance.
Meanwhile, Park Gi-se (played by Lee Hak-joo) was concerned upon hearing that Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho were meeting. Park Gi-se's remark while looking at a photo of Kim Mi-kyung, “You don't know what So Baek-ho did to you,” was loaded with meaning. Curiosity was amplified about the hidden story between Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho that Park Gi-se might know, and how it might act as a variable in their romance.
