Former Laboum member Yulhee shared her impressions after appearing in her first work following her divorce.
On the 23rd, Yulhee released a video titled "I spill the tea on getting dusted while filming. I really didn’t get hurt" on her YouTube channel "Yulhee's House."
In the video, Yulhee was preparing for her first shoot of "My Partner is a Devil," applying a facial mask for skin care while on the move and familiarizing herself with the script. After completing her commute, Yulhee frequently mentioned her character's name "Minjeong" instead of her own, seeming completely immersed in the character. In particular, the representative who came with Yulhee noted, "Yulhee is so into her character that she keeps speaking informally," and Yulhee playfully replied, "When did I?"
While continuing the shoot, Yulhee checked her makeup and asked, "Why do I look so sad?" As she chatted with the representative, Yulhee showed exceptional friendliness, warmly greeting fellow actors when they arrived in the waiting room. Notably, the actors actively promoted Yulhee's YouTube channel, indicating their close relationship with her.
During the waiting time, Yulhee sipped coffee and joked, "The boss is harassing me too much" while performing a situational play. Particularly, when the camera came in, Yulhee pretended to study the script, eliciting laughs. On the second day of filming, the shoot continued in a room decorated with wedding photos, and Yulhee discussed details about emotional expressions with the staff while developing her character. When she struggled to memorize her lines, Yulhee attempted to make a song out of them, but upon failing, she said, "I messed up."
From the third day of filming, Yulhee appeared gradually less energetic. She expressed fatigue, saying, "I got home yesterday at dawn, washed up, and lay down, and it was 4 a.m. I napped for a bit and am going out again at 7 a.m."
In a brief transition to the historical drama "My Partner is a Devil," Yulhee drew attention with a shooting scene reminiscent of Jeon Ji-hyun in the movie "Assassination." In her dedicated performance, Yulhee even sustained an injury, staining her socks with blood. Notably, it seemed Yulhee had also adapted somewhat to the emotional scenes, quickly immersing herself and shedding tears. She encouraged viewers, saying, "Please make sure to watch this. It’s not an ordinary romance. Without the historical aspect, this drama wouldn't be complete. With a solid story, exciting love, and the passionate performances of the actors, it’s very enjoyable."
After finishing her performance, Yulhee found herself unable to stop crying and needed to calm down. Transitioning back to the modern drama, Yulhee completed her last shoot and presented a prepared gift to express gratitude to the actors and staff, moving everyone. She commented, "As the female lead, I felt pressure to memorize my lines quickly. The timeline was tight, and there were many lines, which made certain parts challenging, but the joy at the shooting site was beyond words. I focused so deeply that I didn’t even go to the bathroom or eat for two days. It was a work that made me feel so much. However, I can't believe it. I feel like I have to keep filming. Is this what the feeling is like for a first work? It's refreshing yet a bit regrettable. It was an honor to meet such good actors and staff. This is the first time I’ve felt these emotions since debuting in the entertainment industry."
Meanwhile, Yulhee divorced FT Island member Choi Min-hwan in 2023. Although custody of the children went to Choi Min-hwan, Yulhee revealed last October that he had frequented establishments during their marriage. Choi Min-hwan was questioned by the police but was ultimately cleared of charges.
