Song Baek-kyung from One Time reminisced about a bittersweet past.
In the KBS2TV entertainment show 'SalimNam2,' which aired on the 22nd, Song Baek-kyung appeared as the head of a household working tirelessly day and night. He was seen holding the hands of his two sons tightly as he sent them to school at 8 a.m. Song Baek-kyung noted, "I lived as if I were not living as an entertainer, so I rejected all casting offers. However, I wanted to convey through 'SalimNam2' that I was a father and a singer."
In the daytime, he works as a SUNGWOO and a father, while at night, he transforms into the owner of an interest. At one time, he was the songwriter for One Time, who dominated the Korean hip-hop scene.
Baek Ji-young recalled, "I recommended Song Baek-kyung back when he debuted because he had immense talent, and everyone thought he would be recommended by others." Song Baek-kyung shared, "I really wanted to be a singer, but the atmosphere was one where no one recognized me. Neither my school teachers nor my mother acknowledged it. I got out of the house frequently. It was so tough that I returned home and didn't attend school. I worked part-time jobs starting from the 2nd year of middle school," adding, "I ended up going to the practice room after meeting Yang Hyun-suk. I found out by chance that he was not fond of me. I kept failing auditions."
Then, Song Baek-kyung said, "While holding onto Yang Hyun-suk's pant legs, I thought that if I missed him, I would live an ordinary life for the rest of my life, so I cleaned the practice room very thoroughly. Originally, I mainly made dance songs, but after learning that Yang Hyun-suk liked hip-hop, I worked hard on hip-hop compositions and presented them to him, and Yang Hyun-suk suggested that we work together." He created opportunities for himself and debuted as a singer.
He had a tattoo on one arm. Now it is a tattoo that is not displayed. Song Baek-kyung reflected, "I thought I would live as a singer for my whole life when I didn't have a family. However, I never expected to become a father," recalling the mysterious truths of life.
