CJ ENM is hosting the K-POP fan and artist festival 'KCON JAPAN 2025' and announced its lineup for 'SHOWCASE,' a new signature content unique to KCON, along with news of additional artists joining.
The 'KCON JAPAN 2025,' which will be held from May 9 to 11 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, announced the special lineup appearance of K-POP legend artist Daesung.
Debuting as a member of the group Big Bang, Daesung is loved as an artist with exceptional vocal skills and stage manners, possessing talent in various areas. This will be his first appearance at KCON. Recently, Daesung announced his solo comeback after a year and is already receiving intense interest ahead of the release of his first mini-album 'D's WAVE' in April and an Asian tour. After captivating audiences in 10 Japanese cities last year with the live tour 'D's IS ME,' he is expected to once again deliver legendary performances in Japan.
Since 2012, 'KCON' has been introducing Korean culture and music to the world while serving as a gateway for new artists to enter international markets. This year, it plans to expand fandom programs and showcase more diversified content in Japan, its first Asian hub. As part of this, KCON is preparing innovative stages to maximize interaction between artists and fans, as well as the new signature content 'SHOWCASE.'
Various genres will be represented by new artists taking the stage through the 'SHOWCASE' at the newly added 'X STAGE.' The 'SHOWCASE' lineup includes talented artists such as △SIKKOO, △Big Naughty, △lIlBOI, and △PH-1, who will adequately showcase the charm of K-hip hop, as well as emotionally sensitive singer-songwriters like △So Soo-bin and rookie groups leading the next generation of the global K-POP scene, △82MAJOR, △ARrC, △DXTEEN, △KickFlip, △NEWBEAT, △ODD YOUTH, △RESCENE, and △SAY MY NAME. 'KCON' has been introducing newly discovered artists supported by CJ Culture Foundation's indie musician support project 'Tune Up' to the global stage, providing artists with opportunities to communicate closely with global fans and offering K-POP fans the joy of discovering new artists.
Meanwhile, 'KCON JAPAN 2025' will have Samsung Galaxy as its title sponsor. Samsung Galaxy will provide a special experience related to the S25 experience and various KCON events as a title sponsor. KCON, hosted by CJ ENM and starting in 2012 in Irvine, California, has established a festival model that encompasses the overall culture centered around music content, playing a pioneering role in the spread of Hallyu. The offline cumulative audience for KCON, held in 14 regions around the world including Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, totals approximately 1.99 million people.
