A red light has been lit for the independent activities of NewJeans members who rejected their agency.

On the 21st, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50 (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) accepted and ruled on a provisional injunction filed by HYBE's subsidiary, ADOR, against the five members of NewJeans to 'prohibit the preservation of agency status and the conclusion of advertising contracts.'

NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and HAEIN began independent activities, stating that their contracts were terminated due to violations of the exclusive contract with ADOR last November. Last month, they announced a new team name 'NJZ' through the NJZ SNS channel and changed their profile logo, signaling a new start as NJZ instead of NewJeans.

ADOR is seeking legal confirmation that the exclusive contracts with these members remain valid by filing a lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court. During the hearing held on the 7th, ADOR refuted, with detailed evidence, the claim that there were reasons for the termination of the exclusive contracts.

In particular, CEO Kim Joo-young noted, "The reason the company applied for this provisional injunction is solely because we want to be with the NewJeans members," and appealed, "Please give us an opportunity as we have sincerely dedicated ourselves, thinking only of NewJeans."

On the other hand, the NewJeans members argued against ADOR, stating, "They have no reflection at all and are rather trying to bind us like slaves and starve us. The members' termination notices are legitimate and lawful, and they took effect immediately upon notification. Since the exclusive contracts have been terminated, this provisional injunction should rightly be dismissed."

However, the court's judgment was different. Attention is focused on what steps the restrained NewJeans members will take next.
