The Disney+ original series ‘Knock-Off,’ starring actor Kim Soo-hyun, has given up on its April release.

On the 21st, a Disney+ official stated to OSEN, “After careful consideration, we have paused plans to release Knock-Off”

The new Disney+ series ‘Knock-Off,’ starring Kim Soo-hyun and Jo Bo-ah, was preparing for a production presentation aimed at an April release. However, recent controversies surrounding Kim Soo-hyun and his ex-girlfriend, the late Kim Sae-ron, as well as revelations from the YouTube channel ‘Garosero Research Institute,’ led to the ultimate delay of the release.

‘Knock-Off’ is a story about a man whose life is turned upside down due to the IMF, who goes from being an ordinary office worker to becoming the king of the global knockoff market. It was originally scheduled to be released in the first half of this year following the currently released ‘Hyperknife.’ ‘Knock-Off’ is to be released in two seasons, so preparations for a production presentation for season 1 were underway, ramping up the promotional schedule.

In this regard, a source told OSEN, “The actors are currently filming on set as scheduled,” and noted, “There are no special changes or alterations regarding the Kim Soo-hyun issue.” They added, “There has been no confirmation regarding the production presentation schedule.”

However, with various controversies surrounding the lead actor Kim Soo-hyun erupting, it became inevitable to be conscious of the negative public opinion, leading to indefinite postponement.

Meanwhile, on the 20th, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, filed accusations against the YouTube channel ‘Garosero Research Institute’ and the family of the late Kim Sae-ron.

Gold Medalist stated, “Today, we filed complaints against Kim Se-eui, the operator of the YouTube channel ‘Garosero Research Institute’ (hereafter referred to as ‘Gaseyeon’), who posted a photo of actor Kim Soo-hyun in which he was photographed without pants during a live stream on his YouTube channel, as well as against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, who provided that photo to Kim Se-eui, and against an unidentified individual claiming to be Kim Sae-ron’s aunt, for violations of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (distribution of filmed materials using a camera, etc.).”
