It has been belatedly revealed that actor Yoon Jin suffered a second-degree burn while undergoing a dermatological procedure.

On the 21st, a representative for Yoon Jin confirmed to OSEN, "The actress in question is indeed Yoon Jin," and noted, "In 2021, leading up to the airing of 'A Gentleman’s Lady,' she underwent a dermatological procedure and suffered a second-degree burn. The second-degree burn was more severe than expected, making it impossible to cover with makeup."

The representative for Yoon Jin added, "Due to the injury, we had no choice but to utilize CGI at the beginning of 'A Gentleman’s Lady,'" indicating that Yoon Jin had also undergone quite a bit of emotional distress.

After the trial was concluded, when asked about her future plans, she explained, "I recently gave birth to my second child, so I am currently focusing on childcare rather than immediately entering into a new project. I plan to balance childcare with my career in the future."

Previously, the 18th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Director General Park Jun-min) ruled that actor Yoon Jin should be compensated approximately 50 million won in her lawsuit against a dermatologist, referred to as A, in Seocho District, Seoul, demanding 200 million won in damages.

In May 2021, Yoon Jin underwent three dermatological procedures in succession while under sedation. The issue arose when an injury occurred on the left cheek area during the procedure, and A only applied a moisturizing bandage without taking any further measures.

Since then, Yoon Jin has undergone treatment for the burns and scar restoration procedures at other dermatological clinics 50 times from 2021 to the present, but the injury has not completely healed to the extent that it is visible from a close distance. It has been reported that Yoon Jin spent 9.55 million won on CGI work to erase the injury while shooting a weekend drama right after the procedure.

During the trial, Yoon Jin argued that A should compensate her 200 million won; however, the first trial partially accepted her claims. Considering that Yoon Jin had previously undergone the same procedure, the court determined that A was at fault despite the absence of any physiological factors resulting from the cosmetic procedure.

However, the damages were limited to approximately 50 million won, rather than the 200 million won claimed by Yoon Jin. The court calculated this amount by combining already incurred treatment expenses of 11.16 million won, future treatment expenses of 11 million won, lost income (which she could have earned had the accident not occurred) of 10.77 million won, and mental distress damages of 25 million won. The cost for CGI work was not included in the damages. Both parties did not appeal the ruling, finalizing the verdict.
